Complexity and yet enjoyable cava, it has the dryness and yeasty notes of champagne but on a more approachable manner, very food friendly at an excellent value.

50 months of ageing. Castanyer means 'Chestnut.' As it spends time in chestnut barrel. a fat, but not sweet style. again, wonderful complexity to the palate. modest floral component. again, almond paste to the palate.

Nutty, more in a Champagne style than traditional Cavas, due to the addition of Chardonnay grapes. Needed time to open, about an hour in the bottle. Paired nicely with garlic soup and scallops.
