Georges Lignier et Fils Clos de la Roche

Violet and red fruit notes on the nose. Quite rich on the palate with meaty and red fruit notes. Great finesse and very long. Not up to Clos de la Roche of Dujac or Hubert Lignier in this vintage, but a splendid bottle nonetheless.

Tasted two Red Burgundy blind with Mike-second place. Bright, plum color in the glass, extremely earthy on the nose with a hint of barnyard and dark fruit, more of the same on the palate, beautiful, rich taste, round and supple on the palate, medium body, and medium/long finish, although the nose improved throughout the evening it was downgraded three points which have won the tasting over the Romanee St. Vivant.
