Barth Riesling Singularis (Barrique)

Screw cap. Medium yellow gold. Orchard fruit, peach, apple blossom, walnut, flinty mineral notes, light spice, and a hint of smoke, with fresh acidity and very good length. Smoothly textured and well-balanced, with good concentration. The very subtle oak suits this Riesling very well. Beautiful pop and pour (91). But lightly bitter and a little furry on day two (87). Drink now.

The wine was bright light to medium lemon in colour and offered lemon, peach, hazelnut, almond and brioche aromas on the nose. On the palate the wine showed lemon, apple, pear, peach, some pineapple, hazelnut and vanilla, with a touch of residual sugar, fresh, smooth, medium-plus acidity, a good, creamy mouthfeel and very good length.
