Rapet Pere et Fils Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Fournaux

Mwah.. Nose is good; dark fruit and some cinnamon Palate also nice but bit weak after having 6 bottles of this wine I can only conclude it doesn’t add up unfortunately

Drank over two nights. First seemed a little disjointed with ok fruit be very bitter tannins. Second night showed where this wine can be some more time as somebod the bitterness fades. Glad I have one more to try in a couple/few years.

Digging into some Savigny-Les-Beaunes (Browntrout, Chicago IL) : Nose: There is a fleshy quality to the tones of red fruits, cherries, spices, and some medicinal notes. There is nice depth with a good red fruit base. Taste: Medium bodied with medium acidity. This shows more ripe tones of red fruits, spices, roses, cherries, and a bit of medinical notes as well.
