Found my notes from November 2013 when I first tasted this wine. I noticed the bold flavors and how everything was pronounced; the alcohol, sweetness and acidity were all high and it was very tannic. By all accounts, this wine shouldn’t have aged well but it’s very well balanced tonight and very much drinkable. Nice woodsy aroma fruity flavors. Another surprise find in the recesses of my cellar after my recent reorg. Wish I had more.

Color is still fresh but tasted mature. A bit of volatile acidity. Red fruit and quite deep. Didn't notice any taste of wood. A bit disappointed for simplicity although it has body and depth. I didn't expect it to be ready to drink but it is. The alcohol content is 15% and too high. I can't say it is a wine that I like a lot. Drinkable but not a fan. It would work well for bringing depth and flavor …

I've had this wine 4 times in my life. The first (in 2012) was the best, and it seemed to lose something every time I've had it since. This most recent time I wouldn't even have recognized this as the same wine. Drink on the young side.

I remember first having this wine in a restaurant years ago on the Big Island of Hawaii, thoroughly enjoying its New World, big, bold red and black fruit with an interesting touch of tobacco. Years later, the tobacco is gone and it's a bit more subdued, still with good acid. My tastes have changed a bit and so has the wine. Gone is the tobacco, now fully integrated into the wine. Not overly complex, but a good value.

Perfectly balanced now, solid fruit, fat legs and moderating alcohol. One of Ordonez' greatest QPR deliveries. Complexity beyond anything CA produces at this price point. Enjoy with steak, roast veal, or a nice pork chop...

Amazing wine! It really "wowed" everyone! Dark-purple color. Nice bouquet on the nose with cherry being most markable, it followed with even greater sensation on the plate. Creamy, silky feel. Quite fruity, almost too sweet, but for me, it was perfect! Сherry, plum, vanilla, note of chocolate. Just a touch of heat/spices on the finish, to balance everything out. Don´t need any more time in the cellar, it´s perfect the way it is!

Definitely a new world style with lots of fruit up front, but I love it when Spanish wines are made this way. I do, however differ from those who would describe it as jammy. There is a subtlety and finesse that wines in this price range rarely exhibit. There is mocha, a hint of smoke in the oak and an herbal essence to go with the abundant fruit. It's probably closer to an 89, but for $15, I'll round up.

"Paso a Paso” has Tempranillo’s characteristic nose and flavor profile. It sports deep, soft fruit flavors and exceptional texture for such a low-priced bottle of wine. A great "everyday" wine for the dry reds lover.

This is just not my style of Tempranillo. If I had tasted this blind, I would have sworn (and been willing to bet money) that it was a California Petite Sirah. It's jammy, oaky, syrupy, and overly extracted. It does have some interesting nuances in the nose and palate (hazelnuts, licorice, etc), but it isn't the least bit "old world". No smoke, no cigar box, no earth, no horse blankets, no identifiable terroir whatsoever. It's Parkerized cough syrup, but might …

This bottle ended up being re-gifted (back) to me. I laughed, right before I sighed. A few sips at cellar temp confirmed it was worthy of using to braise with, but little else.

Slow-O 1 hr, served non-blind. As a cocktail, it's OK, I suppose. As a wine, it's a hot, jammy, homogenized mess; is this a Gallo brand? Party juice for the masses. A few sips and I poured the rest down the drain.

Pretty nice. Dark fruit, not too ripe, very earthy, a little bit oaky but not over the top, hints of tobacco. Very perfumed nose of dark fruit and flowers. Smooth with a medium length finish.

Dusty, earthy espresso nose with black plum and black berry fruit. Loads of black currant, black cherry, pepper, underbrush and plum on the palate. Very dark wine. Powerful flavor that coats the palate and lingers well. Nice oak and earth.
