Brokenwood, Jelka Vineyard Riesling, McLaren Vale

Made from raisined grapes affected by botrytis. A nice orangey gold: deep fading to quite pale at the edge. An interesting nose - pleasantly honeyed and waxy, with a touch of orange flower water and vaseline. Lovely attack: quite fresh and with good fruit. Then it fills enormously: big, rich, honeyed flavours. A bit on the sweet side, and personally I'd prefer a touch more acid, but this is a very fine dessert wine indeed. Very pleasing and rounded.
