Finally getting around to this '04–06 vertical I picked up a while back. Thought I might've waited too long but this is still drinking ok. Dense coloring with garnet edges. Aromas of cassis, blackberry, plum, anise, liquorice, graphite, earth, violet, and dusty cedar. I like that. Light to medium body, medium (+) acid, medium finish, and flavors of similar dark fruits and graphite minerality, with a little lemon and black tea. Nice with a steak tonight.

Still very much in it's prime. Fruit was luscious, acid balanced. Wish I had 4 more.

outstanding wine. holding nicely. it seemed even better than the last bottle. Really good fruit but not a fruit bomb. beautifully balanced and complex food wine. Nice dark fruit flavors and cassis leather etc. Wonderful. Tannins still there and very fine. Long finish. I thought last bottle was a bit thin, and I thought it might be time to drink up, but this one was great.

excellent wine. holding nicely. not a fruit bomb but a beautifully balanced and complex food wine. Nice dark fruit flavors and cassis leather etc. Wonderful. Tannins still there and very fine. Probably time to drink it up, as the fruit is maybe maybe a bit thinner than the last bottle. It has been a great run.

Muted nose but opened to hope for a Patriots Super Bowl win because it was the last championship year for the Patriots. Built strength as it was opened. Great and consistent wine year after year. Highly recommended and glad I have a bottle left. Notes of black currant, Rutherford dust, and tobacco/forest floor.

A complicated nose of sassafras and black currants. Palate shows some nice delineation of pure Cab characters with a large portion reserved for the dark and pure black fruit profile. Cassis and blackberries are foremost with slight notes of worn rubbed leather, tea leaf and cola. The mouth feel is soft and pillow-like & somewhat lilty but make no mistake, this is no lightweight. I also get a feel that tannins still have life, but I think these should be …

Color: Still quite crimson at the center but with an orange tinge at the edge. Nose: Quite inviting, with nice fresh blackberry, cherry, and currant fruit aromas and a distinct herbal and smoky character. Fresh tobacco leaf, new suede, pipe smoke, aromatic burning wood, that kind of thing. There is oak, giving hints of cedar, mocha, and baking spice, but it seems pretty well judged and stays in the background. With a bit of air, there's a sharp dried floral …

Cherry, licorice, & tobacco on the nose. Nice balance of dried strawberries, tart cherries & currants on the palate interplaying with some pepper & spice. Slightly short finish with a little too much dominance from tannins & alcohol. Give another couple years. Overall fairly nice wine.

Was slightly stewed and overextracted when popped but after about 2 hour decant this was getting to be outstanding. The wine became more vibrant with air as the acidity and cassis stepped forward. A complete transformation. There is some vanilla from the oak but not overbearing. An earthiness remained. Finish got relatively long with lingering fruit and acidity. Tannins were integrated.
