Forey Père et Fils Nuits St. Georges

Bra vin, stor fylde for en Burgund. Bringebær og moreller, noe anis, lær og tobakk. Fint balanser og bra fylde. God, rund munnfølelse.

Pale red ruby. Elegant aroma. Raspberry, strawberry, red cherry, blackcurrant. Perilla. Geranium, rose, violet. Burnt tire, which fades as time passed. Sandalwood. A little licorice, anise. Modest Umami like flavor. Medium acidity. medium and smooth tannins. Long finish.

Forey non delude mai anche se non ha mai grandi picchi. Questa non fa eccezione. Piacevolezza assicurata, meglio con parecchie ore d'aria. Un po' largo, non centratissimo. Comunque da riprendere.

Sharp, biting acidic red fruit. Rustic. Gorgeous finish with grip. (Supposedly "square" tannins.)

Strange. I can't score this wine. It has a lot of qualities I admire, and also something I can't quite make sense of; it might only be an anomaly of chemical reduction, but this bottle has been left open 24 hours and little has changed. It shows perfectly bright red berry fruit, wet stone, and a gummy base loaded with sensations of cola, pine pitch, nopales, beef blood, and peach blossom. Not much to add to the three reviewers below. Meaty aromas. Great pinosity. (Wait, is there a cabosity, a syrahsity?) Marvelous drinking now but clearly will last for years. A delight for which I am immensely grateful.

Jeremy Holmes' note is spot on - 18 months later. It is not a serious wine in the usual sense: it is fun to drink and it and has a kind of merry making quality to it. Summer, out in the fields with a ripened Camembert.

Bursting with ripe red and black fruits, trimmed with some Asian spice. It is plush and generous, with good intensity and a velvety feel. There's good underlying grip and a finish that is expansive and persistent. Plenty of material here upon which to age.
