This is as ethereal and delicate as Nebbiolo gets. I would not call this an insubstantial wine but it is an absolute featherweight for Nebbiolo standards and I mean that in the best possible way. Opened and consumed over 2 days. This is Nebbiolo? Clear light ruby. A pronounced spritz on opening and even so on day 2, which I'd guess will resolve over time, this was too glossy and tart for my palate. Drank like a carbonic maceration grenache from California. I'd much prefer to drink the base Nervi-Conterno Gattinara and save $20.

A truly special wine! From remarkable vineyards in a remarkable place, this wine is well worth the labour required to produce it. Essential Alpine Nebbiolo… tart red cherry mingles with raspberry and strawberry flavors up front while the finish is all alpine herbs and a hint of liquorice. A shining example of a meticulously made natural wine.
