A bit dissapointing. Rather acidic, rustic, ondimensional and infirm. Clear and not too old seeming Sangiovese (main share) characteristics, but somehow anaemic. A bit unbalanced and unnerving as well. Drink up!

Distant sour cherry, well integrated nose, slight tannins. Classic Italian and OK food pairing.

nose: fairly one dimensional nose of cherries with some black fruits and bits of licorice. Decent nose, but it smells like mid grade sangiovese for the most part with some sagratino added in taste: good medium feel with medium/high acidity and medium/high tannins providing tones of bright cherries, licorice, and various berry tones. Good structure and a bit more depth on the palate then on the nose overall: A very good wine, but the sangiovese added to it detracts from …

I know that Sagrantinos can be a little rough out of the can, but this one was 60-grit at first. Tannic, a bit too acidic, fruit was mixed with bramble. For bad behavior, it was sentenced to a night in a cold fridge with some nitrogen/argon gas.The next night it was everything you like in a value Sagrantino -- still kicking you in the cheeks a bit and not even trying to be smooth, but it finally had some character. …

First night, this was pretty tannic (Sagrantino can be that way), almost unpleasant. Wopuld have rated an 84. "Rustic" to the point of leaving some splinters. Next day it smoothed out a lot after an overnight in the fridge with some nitrogen gas. Very pleasant match with a NY strip steak. Second day rating was more like 88. Next bottle I will leave decanted for at least an hour and see if that works.

Medium depth ruby with browner edge. Many interesting components on the nose-a faint edge of VA, briary tones, creosote, white pepper, and spice. Medium body with real depth, mostly blackberry fruit with a hint of black cherry, uplifting acidity, and substantial tannins. This was quite nice and reminded me of a synthesis of Zinfandel and Syrah.

interesting synthetic licorice (red vines?) on the nose and front, barely sour red fruits in the middle, easy tannins on the back - very enjoyable, would buy again to investigate further.
