Dominique Lafon Volnay 1er Cru Les Lurets

Nothing special, very light body, unusual light density for a CdB 1er cru even from Volnay. I found this a little unbalanced, with some hot on the after taste. A bit too bitter. Very light nose. A weak wine

This is a soft-textured wine more in the light red fruits of strawberry or raspberry elements with really nice balancing acidity. Not earthy at all or overly mineral or even exceptionally complex, just really balanced delicious fruit through the whole palate into a medium long finish. Great with more subtle flavored red meats and meatier fish like salmon especially. I'd probably have picked it as a Beaune 1er cru over a Volnay in a blind tasting.
