What a wonderful and well balanced wine. Drink this now or hold another 2-4 years but why wait

Golden standard Napa blend. Decanted 1 hour, so fruity and jammy. Powerful throughout the 90 minutes dinner. Have at least 5 more years peak time

Can’t say it was a surprise but definitely better than we expected. Very deep purple color and drinking beautifully right now with a huge nose and lots of dark fruits in the nose and flavor. Jammy blackberries, black cherries, plums, blueberries, chocolate and earthy notes. Very well balanced, full bodied, complex and a long lingering finish. Wow! This is a second or third wine?? Hats off to Bryant Family!

Delicious wine, with black and blue fruit, cherries, chocolate wafting from the glass, followed by supple palate with fine grained tannins, sweet fruit and long finish. Bravo!

Two-hour decant and… wow. The nose is still rocking vibrant red fruit like it’s a decade younger, with earthy whispers and a smooth swirl of vanilla. On the palate, the red fruit dances with tannins that are integrated but still have a little swagger. Drinking beautifully now — open it, give it some air, and watch it live. Drink up!

A bit astringent even after 3+ hour decant. Did settle down. Taste is better than nose

Deep red with some bricking. This is quite nice! Aromatic, with iron, berry, and mint notes. Slightly herbal, with some earthy, beefy notes. In the mouth it’s still quite structured, with a sweet berry entry, and the layers of eucalyptus, wood, and graphite. Slightly rich on the finish, the tannin is still very much present and might be the winner in the end. But right now, tasty!

My last bottle from a half case purchase. Still showing some rough edges and hard, unripe stone fruits. With time a bit more herbal, forest elements come through but doesn’t seem to really ever open up and flourish.

Started a little flat, but got better. Had a good cork in it so this wine can go longer should you choose too hold. Shame 2011 was not a better year in CA.

PNP- This bottle is in a nice spot for this approach. Consumed along side a 2017 VHR, 2013 Guado Al Tasso & 2013 Ladera HM Reserve. More on the savory side with lots of tobacco and minerality.

A delightful wine in its prime. Dark cherry and graphite. Long finish. Some green notes are a slight distraction In my opinion.

Think it's getting better as it ages and sheds some of it's youthful fruit. Becoming more left bank bordeaux like as other components emerge from behind the fruit. Very nice wine. A couple hours in a decanter and it firing on all cylinders. 5-10 more years left.

At 10 yrs old this is showing great. Nose had dusty dark fruit, palate was balanced, just a slight green edge that says I am an 11 but very subtle and in harmony with the rest of the elements. Still very big and present tannin but soft and rounded mouthfeel. I enjoyed this quite a bit, 92-93.

Fantastic blend from 2011. One of the better from recent memory. Drank along side many other wines so no formal notes but was clearly a standout. Thanks DEA for bringing the bottle! A little left in the bottle to revisit after 48 hours and this wine has completely fell apart. If you decide to open drink up in the first sitting.

This was also very tasty. It was my second favorite of the evening. On top of black cherry and graphite notes, there was a touch of bell pepper. The wine was nicely balanced with some earth and minerals to the black fruited palate. It can easily hold for another 5 years.

Again delivering a purebred that’s Bryant class. Fresh black and blue berry on the nose, showing freshness and acidity. Palate is smooth and clean with more elements of mountain berry and hints of forest. Really pure and integrated.

Deep garnet color with a bouquet and flavor of cassis and blackberry with hints of eucalyptus and maybe a bit of cola. Very smooth impression, if not quite as much as the flagship Cabernet with nice definition and nuance and a long finish. Very nice wine.

Before I even tasted this beauty, I was impressed by the deep, dark color and the huge nose. This is a first class wine that can hold its own against its Bryant big brother. There is a lot going on with this wine ... smoke, dark fruit, wet stone and a bit of spice. This wine is excellent. I would feel comfortable keeping it in the cellar another 10-15 years ... easy.

Brought to Highlands Bar and Grill for Birthday. Decanted for about an hour. Very young but began to open a little about 1.5-2 hours. There was a lot to the wine but overall very disappointed due to the overpowering green pepper taste on the front end and carried all the way through. I could tell that the mid-palate and finish had a lot to add but I could not discern anything because of the green pepper on the front-end. Likely …

This was a PnP with about 15/20 mins in the glass. Fruity blackcurrant initial attack. Cabernet comes through strongly. N5 B6 F8 T7 F7 In the finish some petit verdot or franc definitely comes through. This has potential but still has significant acidity in the finish - I would leave until 2020 for the next taste.

Finally dipped into one of the bottles. First impression was concentrated fruit. That relented after 2 hours and the wine opened do a fragrance of red currant. First observation, decant this wine for 3+ hours prior to consumption. I only got in a little over an hour and it was still tight.

Consumed over two nights. Pure and stiff nose of dusty berry, cassis, lead pencil, abundant forest, touched of eucalyptus and coffee bean. On the palate an evolution over time starting with iron and lead, pencil shavings, forest and finally moving too eucalyptus and pine wax. Medium finish. Well made for what is regarded as a poor vintage.

This was served blind, but was quickly guessed. Great berry-driven cabernet. Decanted for about an hour - With air some cigarbox emerged, but this wine was all about delicious fruit and berries. Classic Napa cab. The tannins are smooth and in balance, but I might wait a year or two before opening so it can open up a bit more.

Bright garnet red with a darker core. Lots of red fruit on the nose with a touch of herbaceous notes. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and medium plus body. Spiced palate with peppers, red berries and almost black currants. Long finish. Drink till 2025.

Still appears quite young. Evolved quite a bit over the first hour though tannic throughout. A bit thin, almost like an understated Merlot. The cab franc and cab sauv are not prevalent yet. Won't score. Hope this improves with time.

Deep ruby core with a slight garnet edge. Dark blue fruits and a touch savory on the nose. Layers for dark flowers and anise too. Well rounded and integrated on the palate with moderate tannins (6.5/10). Full bodied with layers of cinnamon, blue fruits and black fruits on the palate. Long and lingering finish. Would be nice to try with a couple hours in the decanter. Drink till 2025.

I feel like nothing I have is ready to drink or its old enough that my wife won't drink it. So I decided to grab one of my few wines from the dreaded 2011 vintage. I had had this wine before and found it green and tannic and very austere. I decided I wouldn't touch until an hour of air. This opaque ruby red wine gives off some pleasant menthol licorice and red berry notes. Notably softer in the mouth …

tastes pretty much like all the other db4s I've had in the last few years, but perhaps with a little more structure and tannins. nice blackberry, granite, black currant that balances well with the plum sweetness. lengthy and elegant with a soft finish like most of the db4s. finish a little bit on the shorter side.
