From an auction "Mystery Pack". Pretty sweet with very little acidity to accompany it, so it came off as flabby. No one was interested in drinking more than the small taste that I poured, including myself, so I dumped the bottle. This is well past the drinking window, so no official score - I'd probably rate this in the mid-70s based on this bottle.

Pale straw color. Honey and tart apple aromas. On the tongue it gives way to pineapple and mineral. I would classify this as off-dry, as it is not overtly sweet. The finish returns to the apple hinted at on the nose. Fairly crisp. Not a bad price overall.

It's okay. Sweet peaches, tropical fruit and some minerals. Definitely off dry. A tinge of acidity provides the necessary backbone but it lacks structure. A little flabby.

One of my favorites from a tasting where 6 wines from Chateau Ste. Michelle and Dr. Loosen were presented. I didn't love it quite as much over the course of 2 nights, although I'd still say it was very good. On the nose and the initial taste it was great, but there was something off on the finish that I found distracting. Overall, quite enjoyable and I would buy it again if I saw it at a good price.

Sweet and not very complex but still appealing with a clean, slate-y feel to the white fruit and lightly floral flavors.

Swordfern Wine Tasting #9: Riesling (Paul & Kelli's: Seattle, WA) : Tasted blind as part of a Riesling tasting. Completely different aromas than the bottles tasted over the summer. No fruit on the nose; instead entrancing saline aromas that reminded me of the Jersey shore - some combination of seashells, jetty rocks, and salty air. The palate, on the other hand, was full of rich, generous, delicious fruit (pear and citrus) and gorgeous acidity. This was the wine of the …

Clean, off-dry and perhaps a bit flabby, this is still appealing for its plush, polished notes of peach, petrol and lychee. Improved with some air.

Lovely again. Peaches and minerality on the nose, and then all that rich fruit on the palate with a bit of sweetness. The tingly acidity on this wine makes me very, very happy and blitzed its way through the cheeses we were having for an appetizer. Truly delicious.

When St. Peter greets me at the pearly gates, he should be holding a slice of crusty bread slathered with duck liver pate, one cornichon, a dollop of dijon, three kernels of grey sea salt, and a full glass of this Riesling. In the mean time, I'll continue to engage in this little slice of heaven on earth. Especially since I don't believe in St. Peter. Candied peaches on the nose and beautiful fruit on the palate with precisely constructed …

Glassy, somewhat watery in color. Fragrance is very pleasant - apples, flowers, honey, melons...the usual. An immediate tingle tickles the tongue - what do they call that, effervescent? I like a tingle but this is a tad much, distracting from the taste. Taste is similar to the nose, a touch lemony but well balanced. Not fantastic, but solid for sure and great for the price. I give an 86 for overall characteristics and an 89 for value.
