popped and poured at 1am and by 2am, along with some left over american waygu steak, this was about as good as it gets! tons of cherry fruit, very seamless and sleek, beautiful layers to this and a gorgeous nose and hue. excellent and enjoyable.

DD for a quick 15 minutes and consumed during 2 hours spam. Another wine for my early bday festivities!! This wine smells like roses, pure, fresh, the body is medium plus, and everything is in great balance, nice complexity and good finish. Should keep drinking well for another 10 years or so. Drink or hold.

Decanted for one hour. Nose of blackberry, currant, cedar, chocolate, coffee and spice. Ripe blackberry, currant, cedar, espresso, spice and crushed rock on the palate. Very long finish. Full bodied. Served with reverse seared bone-in-ribeye steaks and cowboy compound butter.

Bought just one of these in 2013 and been nurturing it ever since. Last night was it’s night to shine. Shine it did. Filtered and decanted for an hour after cork failed to extract intact. A bit tight during the first glass, but with elegant depth, structure, and mouthfeel. A beautiful wine! The nose was earthy with tobacco and Leather. Palet was full of dark fruit, plum and black cherry and a nice hint of currant. The finish was again a leathery expression of the mild tannins with a distinct overtone of dark chocolate. Time is right in this one!!

Anniversary dinner with Valerie and Meredith at Rat's...great food and corkage friendly place. Bought this at the PNV auction, in my cellar since. Slow oxed for about 30 minutes, splash decant after that, drank over 45 minutes. Deep garnet/purple core, mild separation at the edge. Big nose right out of the gate, dark fruits, kirsch (?), cedar, earth notes and oak. Palate showing black cherry, cassis, dark plum, licorice. Tannins smoothed and sweetened...Full/medium body, long finish. Rich To Kalon fruit …
