Clendenen Family Vineyards Nebbiolo Punta Exclamativa

Slightly more color than I would typically expect of a barolo but similar hue. Lots of alcohol, maybe a bit of fuel, turpentine, potpourri, dried raspberry and cherry on the nose. PnP, cedar, leather, dried strawberries, dried cherry, rhubarb, aged cedar, aged leather, warm spice, lots of heat and warmth but not unpleasantly so, finely integrated tannins, lasting finish. Beauteous. Rich in the nose, light on the palette. Roses and tar. Closest approximation to Barolo from an American producer I’ve ever had. But I expect nothing less from Jim Clendenen may he RIP

The current release. Beautoful pronouced aromatics. And rounded enough on the palate with some generosity.

91-92. Nebbiolo cherry and rose. California pinot texturess and vibrancy. Slightly pruney on the nose. May have underscored. Excellent with rib eye

Very Barolo-esque. Cherries, leather, licorice. Needed a couple hours in the decanter. Nice.

Great Nebbiolo. Typical Nebbiolo notes. Not complex but tasty
