Mirassou Vineyards Zinfandel Monterey County

Redefined for me what a California Petite Sirah is capable of--no hot, over-oaked fruit bomb here. The many years in the bottle have left this a ruby color with no hints of bricking. The nose features old leather and subtle black fruit. Same on the palate with mild spices and cedar. Medium-bodied (only 12% ABV), with moderate tannins and surprisingly racy acidity. Had this with steak at Berns in Tampa and it was a big hit. Still going strong.

Exceptional; still young, Big black fruit with a full mouth feel.
