Yellow apple, lemon curd, superb minerality and elecric acidity. Just a very very good wine. I believe it still have some good years, yet I can see it will get any better. Love it the way it is now.

Tulip color. Lively, salty sea shore aromas. Medium to full body. Dynamic bitter citrus changing to brighter orange peel, terrific brothiness, excellent acidity, and outstanding stony finish. How odd that after 2 bottles that were frankly or incipiently oxidized this would shine with such freshness and Grand Cru complexity several years later. I can't explain it, but I'll gladly embrace the pleasure this bottle provided tonight.

Wasn't sure what to expect after 9 years in the cellar. Still has good acidity. Significant tension. Moderate length. White grapefruit, lychee, apple, minerals.

Pours golden straw in the glass. Expressive bouquet of lemon curd, pineapple and honeydew with hints of flint, smoke and green apple rounding out the nose. Palate coating fruit with a creamy mouthfeel; balanced with wonderful minerality and acidity that leads to a 45+ second finish.

Deep golden colour in the glass. Intoxicating bouquet of tropical fruits, limestone, brioche and butterscotch. Round mouthfeel with pineapple, lychee and graphite on the palate. Lovely balance of fruit, acidity, and minerality with a 30+ second finish.

Under screw cap. Still very young and tight with incredible cut and structure. Floral notes, green fruit, citrus/lemon curd and slate/stone in spades. Enjoyed over 4 days and it just got better and better. Fantastic wine.

Dark and dull. Mushroom and saline notes quickly fell apart-oxidized. My fault for holding this.

Maturing. Certainly not oxidised but some lovely bruised apple and honey notes. Still some freshness on the palate. Complex. Very good. I also liked it when it was fresher. A lovely wine to watch develop.

Light golden/yellow in the glass. Pleasing nose of warm dough and yeast with subtle stone fruits emerging after some air. Green apple and stone fruit dominate the palate with a steel and gun flint backbone that’s supported by a nice minerality and acidity. Finish is underwhelming on this very seafood friendly wine.

Deep but brilliant yellow/gold. Crushed oyster shells, preserved Tunisian lemons, cold tidal pool on the nose. The aromas just explode with a little air. Complex and layered flavors include ripe lemon, quince, citrus zest and a touch of stone fruit. Power and persistence rule the finish. Yikes, this is very lovely Vaulorent! Drink now through 2020 if well stored. Screw cap. Last and best bottle from a glorious case.

Medium yellow. At first, a ripe apple scent more reminiscent of Mâcon than Chablis, but eventually, more salinity came through. Very full, some wood, ripe apple more than citrus, just adequate acidity, some limestone. Big but not particularly distinguished Valmur.

PopnPour, tasted over 3 hrs and Day 3; screwcap closure -translucent light gold -pungent ripe yellow fruits not quite tropical with some reduction funk -med/med+ acidity very sappy concentrated mid-palate with a silky creaminess, plenty of minerality and a sea salt element, decent finish; overtly tropical on day 3 -quite powerful if not overly complex, very '08 in style, not a trace of oxidation, drinking well now but still young in its evolution

Solid GC Chablis, youthful, good fruit some oak. Needs more time but pleasant with a piece of cod.

Clear yellow/gold. Brisk aromas of the seashore, crushed rocks and shells lead to rich flavors that bring an additional element of ripe citrus. The flavors of preserved lemon, quince and orange chutney are both rich and lively with a great texture and mouth feel. Spot on right now and in no danger of falling off the cliff, this has everything I hope for in a top Premier Cru Chablis. Drink now through 2016.

Brilliant deep yellow/gold. The aromas are all about sea breeze, lemon zest and crushed stone with a touch of honey, all bolstered with bright, well integrated acidity. The flavors of preserved lemon have real depth and texture. They linger refreshingly on the palate. Drink now through 2016

Luminous yellow-green color. Quite ripe and fruit-forward nose with mineral aromas of steeliness and chalky stones that are the hallmark of Chablis wines. Along with those mineral aromas there are aromas of ripe apples and citrus fruits, some sweeter white fruits and even a hint of nutty oxidative character, that becomes more apparent as the wine breathes. The wine is crisp, dry and medium-to-moderately full-bodied on the palate with quite racy acidity and intense flavors of whitecurrants, tart green apples, …

Very good. Fresh yet ready. There is some creaminess to this, like a touch of oak was used. Great acidity and very Chablis on the nose - quite persistent nose. Long.

Quite tight, though with the oysters you could get some of the saline/seashell mineral notes. Full bodied, good acids, shy. Better on day 2. On day 1, B-, day 2, B+

Screw cap; unscrewed and poured? Greenish light gold; intense nose of sea-air, citrus, perhaps a touch of iodine. On the palate medium full (rather ripe for Chablis) and then that wonderful acidity kicks in to liven things up. Drinking very nicely at age 5; given the medium weight not sure this will age forever but why wait? (with Sushi).

Popped and poured. Light yellow with green highlights. Lovely crisp saline nose - smells like the sea! Quite intense on the palate with lovely citrus and saline character; classic and drinking very well. Although clearly high acid (as it should be) this is mellowing nicely. Excellent QPR.

With roast chicken. Apricot, apple, peach - quite ripe and rich: Maconnais like. I initially interpreted as near-oxidation when at 12C and over. [See previous note, where I say its oxidised but this was probably wrong]. But it's not oxidation, its the browning apple note and fatness that makes it seem oxidised. This effect was worse with roast chicken. No minerality. Some light oak. After air and at lower temp it gets slightly better but not much. There is a …

This seemed oxidised. Drinkable but quite distracting. It was mainly on front palate and the finish was more classic Chablis - quite a nice acidity in this actually. Air and colder temperature helped a little but food (sushi) was particularly good at neutralising the oxidised notes. Not sure whether this is early premox or what the cause was but will go through my remaining bottles a little quicker.

Clear, pale yellow, green tinge. Clean nose, very mineral, hint of vanilla, citrus fruits, perhaps some apple, touch of smoke. Full bodied, still quite tight, nice acid backbone. Oak nicely integrated. Long finish. Excellent Chablis with plenty of life left in it.

Pretty solid value of a 1er Cru Chablis. Consistent with other people's tasting notes. The only critique I have is the oak influence; I just wish I weren't there. But that's not going to stop me from buying more of this.

Interesting nose. Candied pineapple, creamy almond croissant and just a slight oxidation. Just a touch of creaminess and tangy apple on the palate and just enough acid to balance it out. Nice long, deep finish that lingers adding a nice mineral touch. Great wine.

Good acids, minerally, but really so tight that hard to get a handle on. Next night more lemony, chalky minerals, good length, but hint of oxidation starting. I should have re-tried at 8 AM. ? on night one, B+ on night two.

Chablis Premier Cru (at Arild's) : Light golden. Open style, noticeable butter/oak aroma. Some grass and tropical fruit. Medium body. Also some oak in the finish. Medium lenght. Very straight-forward style. I notice that others are rating this one much higher than me, so I have to make the reservation that this was perhaps not a perfect bottle.

Needed some air to add some complexity but it didn't deliver as much as I wanted. Perhaps we didn't aerate it enough as it seemed to be more fatter, with good polish but lacked the drive I was looking for.

Popped and poured; except it's a screwcap! Light greenish hue; nose of the sea and limestone. Quite a silky mid-palate for a wine with this much acidity on the finish. Long saline finish; this is great now with oysters but will live for a long time. Excellent QPR.

Clear light greenish yellow. Classic saline Chablis nose with limestone and perhaps a touch of citrus. On the palate: very clean, high acid, but with enough body to be in nice balance. At this point the mid-palate is dominated by acidity but the finish is very long suggesting it will come together; impressive wine for < $30.
