Frisson Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford

I have had this wine a few times and never been wowed by it for the money. This one had the typical dust and on open very tannic with acidity overpowering fruit. Decanted an hour and over next two hours it finally started to bring the fruit forward. Probably not a rebuy for me for the money.

Very nice cab that is drinking very well. Very well liked by our group.

Decanted for one hour. Layered and rich on entry, this is a beautiful expression of Cab. Notes of vanilla and blackberry transition into a lingering spice finish. Good QPR.

A clear and dark purple color. Aroma was very big in the nose and full of plum, black fruit, vanilla and oak. A rustic and briary Rutherford wine and the taste was big, but it wasn’t as complex or deep as I was hoping. While there was a lot of “dust”, there wasn’t as cohesive a taste of the fruit and oak. Family Winemaker's 27th Annual Tasting San Francisco, first time tasting this producer, very good experience with the wines, reasonable $70 Retail price, nose of black cherry, black berry, allspice, and roasted meat, same on the palate, medium/big body, tasty, better in 2 years, soft tannins present, slightly sweet fruit, medium/long finish.
