Roundish apple and mandarin orange profile but the real interest is the more aromatic side: beeswax, fennel pollen, almond, a whiff of white and pink flowers. Mildly salty. Great pairing with a pumpkin-caramelized onion risotto with hazelnuts and fried sage.

Commanderie des Costes du Rhone - Fall 2022 Intronization (Aquavit) : Basic and easy wine. Actually a bit surprised on the price tag for it. This is bigger in style, rounder, less acid. Drinks well and I suspect would have paired well with the crab but alas my glass was finished before that.

Classic Viognier nose of petrol, hazelnut, jasmine, orange blossom. Spicy flavors of white peach, hazelnut, glycerin, clove and lime zest. Crisp acidity yet opulent. Very well balanced and complex.
