Jean-Francois Ganevat, Cuvee Julien, Cotes du Jura

Lovely nose with red berries, forest floor, and flowers. Good acidity with quite a bit of tannic structure on the palate, more red fruits and berries, alpine strawberries, slightly earthy, and tart red fruit. Nice finish. This tasted so much younger than a 2005 and overall it reminded me much more of 2005 red Burgundy than a Ganevat red. Very enjoyable, overall.

Lovely and quaffable....but for the price? oy.

Tasty bottle of pinot. A bit lighter than typical burgundy, but it actually reminds me of what some of the cool kids burgundy wines are like these days.

Restaurant purchase. Very light color. Funky nose. Mouth fresh raspberry, salted plum, savory finish and evolving in the glass. Intriguing wine.

Funnily enough, this wine reminds me of the Mini-Rayas: Domaines des Tours wines. Very transparent in mouth and nose, maximum medium weight, notes of wild strawberries, sour cherry and hibiscus, combined with earthy hints (humus) and delicately smoky notes. On the one hand a pleasant extract sweetness, on the other hand a nice airiness and lightness, hardly perceptible tannins, subtle sweet spiciness, a hint of cinnamon; definitely mineral and a wonderful acidity. Pale ruby. A mere hint of VA gives lift to bright, wild strawberry and sous bois. Lighter on the palate, overmatched by the killer nose, but nonetheless I love the Cuvée Julien. Drink slightly chilled.

Light ruby. Crunchy, bright strawberry and sappy undergrowth on the nose. This is alive with energy! I absolutely love the Cuvée Julien. Best chilled, letting it warm and evolve in the glass.

Bright, transparent ruby. Cool strawberry and sous bois on the sharp nose. Lightweight with energetic acidity. Best served chilled. The Cuvée Julien isn't for everyone but I dig this.

Bebido en Bendito. Animal y funky. Aunque esta vez no me molestó en exceso. Lo mejor la boca. Salina y con cierta concentración. Se bebe muy bien y tiene personalidad. En todo caso empieza a estar en unos precios....

Fizzy, very reduced initially. Broadens out and sweetens. Interesting.

Smoky nose, a bit sour perhaps, but on the palate, lots of glossy ripe sweet-edged pinot fruit, matched nicely by some new oak - quite simple, but very attractive
