Monchhof, Urzig Wurzgarten Riesling Kabinett, Mosel

Like every 89 point kabinett ever, only sweeter

Fuck it. I'm in the mood for starfruit and persimmon and dessert.

Trying to make up my mind about this one. I THINK I like it, it's just a little sweeter than I expected. Delicate petrol and nectarine nose. Slightly viscous on the palate almost - but the flavored are very nice. White peach, honeydew, apple, guava. A tiny hint of effervescence to make it interesting.

Good value riesling. Lime zest, petrol, honeydew with a nicely driven palate that has a hint of sweetness that is countered by a nice acidic punch. Very tasty with food.

Très bon Riesling à l'équilibre sucre-acidité presque parfait. Peut-être un brin léger, mais se boit dangereusement bien!

I complimented the sommelier on the extensive list of German wines. I was also tempted by an Erbacher Marcobrunn but it was about $20 more than the Mosel wine I selected. Lush Riesling

Bright acidity, light body, sweet finish. A delightful hot summer apertif if well chilled.

Decent, but uninspired kabinett. Lacking in brightness and complexity, although decent acidity.

Good, but much sweeter than expected. Fragrant and flavorful. Not as balanced as it could have been.

Recent Release German Wines (K&L Wines, San Francisco) : Pale. Whiff of honey. Lovely delicacy with some sap behind its lithe facade. Off dry, snappy grapefruit, chalky finish. Lovely Kabinett.

Slate, minerality; balanced, lime, tart with slight sweetness, simple and nondescript but well made.
