popped and poured. very enjoyable. dark garnet color. dark red fruit with secondary hints of tobacco and dirt? pretty cherry notes, some dark chocolate hints, some tobacco bay leaf savory notes. tannins still there and probably would be better with red meat but I had this with pasta. regardless, a very yummy wine and def in a great drinking window now.

This wine is big yet graceful. Decanting for an hour gave way to an incredible nose. The tannins are just perfect and provide incredible structure throughout. My palate tasted black fruits, mocha, and a combination of vanilla and leather. Incredible wine.

Very nice Cab Franc blend in a good place right now. Smooth and went well with porterhouse steak. Had some of the green/wild flavors of CF that I like. In a good place right now.

- It's balanced with a medium/full body. Fleshy texture with a medium finish.

High berry tones, tar, vanilla, all blended together in vibrant acidity and a smooth finish.

Decanted just one hour then consumed over the next three. Dark in color but rich red fruit is salient. Still very young showing strongly of cedar wrapped in a soft tannic jacket. Delicious now, but with its pedigree, it should be best for those who wait.

Honeymoon Wine Tasting; 6/25/2012-7/3/2012 (California - Napa & Sonoma Counties) : Tasted at Winery. 67% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Petit Verdot, all from Pritchard Hill Martinez Vineyard. The deep purple color and aromas of dark & juicy berries, oak, and floral lead into a big yet well balanced wine. The flavors are strong, with firm tannins present but in the background. The finish is long but quite tannic. This wine needs a minimum of 2 yrs, if …

Winery Tastings, Napa, May 2012; 5/17/2012-5/20/2012 (Coombsville, Howell Mountain, Moss Creek, Calistoga, Spring Mountain, Rutherford, Pritchard Hill) : (B+) Big wine. Lots of Pritchard Hill muscle, though without the femininity I get from other PH wines. Black fruits overpower the bit of red fruit in there. Vanilla. Vine spice. Nice wine.

Very dark with scent of vanilla . I was surprised the tanins were as soft at they are now. I will have a difficult saving any of this wine for 5 years, but would like to save some. This fruit is all from Martinez Vineyard on Pritchard Hill and is cheaper than any of their rock star neighbors. Penty of legs and long finish. More winemakers should concentrate on cab franc.
