Finished in Bolgheri casks - so probably cabernet blend Oddly it smells a bit like an oxidised red - tawny port - something I find not uncommon with red wine finishes. Tobacco and aromatic spices. Leathery and winey on the palate, has a real Italian wine bitterness to it, bitter cherry, maraschino liqueur, and a little honey. It tastes like the casks are really bringing something new to this.
