Man O' War Vineyards Merlot Cabernet Franc Malbec

Tasted at the Whitewater Valley Wine Society dinner, held at Donnington Valley Hotel, UK. Made using grapes from a variety of plots. Vinified in old oak barriques, wild yeast. Dusty, hedgerow fruit. Rich and earthy. Went very well with the beef.

Tasted blind and convinced myself this was Syrah! Dark ruby, towards black. Nose of black fruit with savoury aromas of cooked bbq meats and fried bacon. To taste it has blackcurrant and blackberry, hedgerow fruits, coal dust and a sooty slightly drying finish.

Leafy nose, red fruit, floral - smells promising Tannins quite firm and then a slightly green quality too Tastes a bit underripe
