The nose was lovely, with sweet dark cherries and berries, earth and bramble, with a nice blush or rose petals around the sides of the bouquet. Delicious - this was a really nice, food friendly bottle, especially for a bottle at its price range. While not the most complex drop in the world, it was certainly no simpleton either, showing plenty of character in the glass. The nose was classic Sangiovese, with notes of earth, fresh herb and peppery spice, some tomato purée aromas, all floating around a sweet core of blackberries and dark cherry fruit smells.
