Tower Estate Chardonnay

Wax seal. Fruity, sour nose of apple and green mango over background notes of farmyard and old oak. Full-bodied palate, with rich flavours of apple, mango, apricot, and lemon. There are hints of oak and lees, but they stay squarely in the background. Mouthfeel is soft and creamy, with broad, pleasantly sour acidity. I wasn't expecting much from a 13-year-old Chardonnay from an unfamiliar producer; I was very pleasantly surprised.
