Double decanted for 30 minutes and then taken to MesaMar. The wine is medium plus in body, lot of perfume on the nose and the palate is refine and complex at the same time, the finish is polished and persistent, I definitely like this wine but at a price close to $200 I will pass.

No detailed notes. Beautifully balanced and precise, this delivers depth and purity without feeling overdone, very 2016 in style. The fruit is focused and refined, framed by a fine, seductive structure and polish. Already showing good complexity, though still a touch monolithic today, it promises to gain nuance and harmony with time.95/96pts

What a difference a year…or maybe a different bottle?…makes. Coravined a glass. Explosive aromatics, and a deep, long wine tonight. Like a young bordeaux. Still has some tannins to resolve and so, a few more years in the cellar could help. Red and black fruits, cherry flavors. Lot of things going on here.

Very disappointing and way overpriced. Varietally correct, elegant and very understated. VERY understated. Thos wine lacked complexity, had no oomph, and while quite drinkable, I kept asking, “where’s the beef”? A good $30 cabernet IMO, if priced as such. Have had many better 2014 napa cabs, most of which are drinking very nicely now.

Dinner with Paul and Jeff (The George Town Club - DC) : Generous black and blue fruit, good complexity. Rich, round and generous but also showing a good balance and detail. Not a blockbuster but still very Napa. Drinking well.

I've been holding out for the 10 year mark thinking that would be the sweet spot and I was surprised upon opening this felt a little tired. Secondary flavors more pronounced as the fruit has faded. If one is looking for a modern play on Bordeaux from the new world this would be a good suggestion. Could be bottle variation as this was sourced retail through Woodland Hills. Maybe a likely a condition of storage but then again, might just …

On open, the cork pulled easily with little or no seepage into the cork. In fact, the color seepage on the cork looked more like a 2017 than a 2014. Not very giving on the nose either. In the decanter it went. Garnet in color, no light edges somewhat translucent. Meant to decant 90 min, but life got in the way, and 2.5 hrs it was. Transformation successfully completed. Oak and tannins integrated. While still young, this was delicious. Black …
