Good fullish depth of secondary red and black fruits, hints of menthol; same qualities on palate with ample structure. Good but not special; good weekday wine to go with a roasted chicken.

Almost gone, but still good acid and a hint of cranberry.

I expected this to be sorely overdue but surprisingly vibrant with plenty of fruit. Happy to have another bottle

Fairly impressive deep aromas and flavor profile of dark red fruit. Holds up well even into a second day, which several '02 GCs have been unable to do for me, literally forcing me to drink entire bottles of my '02s (yes, I know that's a very "first world" problem). Nice wine

Very similar to my last note from 9/1/16. This continues to drink very nicely, with a fully expressive aromatic profile of early red burg maturity. The palate is classic Beaune crunchy red fruits, and this has a bright acidic streak and a solid tannic frame still. I think this will likely continue to evolve for some years, but it is in a wonderful place now.

This bottling is really beginning to drink well. There are red cherries, soil, and floral aromas on the nose, and the palate has come into great balance, with its medium-light fleshiness working nicely with the light tannic frame that remains. The acidity is in fine harmony with the whole as well. All in all a very satisfying bottle of '02 burgundy.

Didn't show well until day 2 - but then it was pretty nice. Nice mouthfeel - still with a touch of tannins. Beginning to get into secondary flavors, but it's still early.

Still good colour, some brick towards rim. Warm, inviting nose, secondary notes, sois-bois, earth, sandalwood and a touch of smoke. Rather masculine. Smooth on the palate, lovely balance, raspberry fruit as well as minerals and boletus. Long, effortless finish. In a perfect window now. Lovely

Good bottle, drinking well. Tiny bit of oak, but otherwise lovely pinosity.

This wine went really well with grilled steak. On its own too dry and dusty. I have one more bottle which I'll open sooner than later. For the price point, $28, it lasted nicely in the cellar.

Similar to my last bottle, with a strong earth component to the nose to go along with its cherry fruit. The palate has softened though, with the tannins much more in the background now, although without food they do dominate a bit. Acidity brightens the wine but remains in the background. This is a very easy-to-drink burg at the moment.

Not much there out of bottle so I decanted for a couple hours. Rounder and smoother now. Easy to drink but not complex what so ever. It is what it is, I expected a little more from this vintage but what can you say. It's Burgundy and you don't always get what you want. This is silky smooth and balanced so I guess you can't beat it up too badly. Light cherry. minerals, spice and wood smoke on a medium …

Very pleasant. Fruit was forward - almost new world. There was a hint of barnyard, which blew off after 20 mins or so. Easy drinking and very tasty. Not a thriller, but very good.

Thinking this is past its prime. I have a few more bottles so will try giving them some air and see if that makes a difference.

Drinking well right now. Showing a tiny bit of bricking. Needed about an hour to open. Nice aromas, decent depth and length. Not really 1er Cru weight, but a very nice package, imo. Happy to have a few more of these. CT says I paid $24 on release. Definitely worth it.

First of all, great value: a good burgundy for a reasonable price. Beautiful brick color. Intense color for a Pinot. We know that it is 9 years old already. This wine is pretty complex: dry fruits, prune, jam. You can easily smell it with its intense nose. It has a fresh acidity, dry sugar. It still has a small astringency. I as a somewhat long finish as well. Overall, a really good value for the price! Isn't the goal to …

Wonderful! This seemed to be at its peak. I suspect it will be good to drink within the next 2-3 years.

Tasting Group Dinner w/ Alan Rath - Pinot (Craftsman, Minneapolis) : Light funk, some tart cherries and blocky oak. Ripe and a bit rustic on the palate.

Double-decanted for about 4 hours. Beginning to show a hint of browning at the rim. On the nose, this has got dark cherries and an earthy/leathery note. The palate is fully of juicy flavor while being only moderately concentrated. It's got a zippy acidity and a fair dose of somewhat rustic, chunky tannins showing up on the back end. Maybe it was the context (brought to a pizza place, less than ideal glassware), but this was the most Chianti-like burgundy …

This wine was very different from the tasting three years ago. Initially thin and tart with a pronounced acidic edge, it improved after three hours in the decanter but no where near the experience from 2005.

Robe rubis clair, brillante.
