Primary and quite youthful, a bit surprisingly. Juicy and on the bright/red-fruited side of the mourvèdre spectrum.

Inky black red. Bitter chocolate and dark black and blue fruits. Smooth tannins.

Wine abuse. I bought this well over 10 years ago. I needed to fill up my wine locker at Morton's with cheap stuff so that when they called me and said that some cheapskate from Wineberserkers was there and wanted access to my locker, I could tell them to give them a bottle of this. Probably cost me about $8 a bottle. No temp control in the locker. Fast forward to a few years ago. Morton's is closing their White …

Deep dark color blossomed into tight dried fruit aromas. Medium body in the mouth with layers of spiciness wrapped in fruit. Way beyond expactations, should have purchased several. Solid 89+; i don't drink enough jumilla to provide a better opinion. But I can tell I'd drink more. So will you.

A nose of some dark fruit and some spice, dark purple in color. A medium to full bodied red, with black cherry, plum, some tobacco and spice on dry finish. www.winelx.com

Heavy tobacco nose, some black fruit and raisin. Note a pleasant nose for me. On the palate, raisin flavor carries as do some black fruit. Mellow tanins. Wasn't a bad wine, but not a wine for me.

Big cherry and tabacco on the front end with herbs and heavier tannins on the finish. Stood up against Thanksgiving dinner.

Smooth and tasty. Soft, dark fruits went well with tacos.

If I didn't know better, I'd say this was a fairly cheap, exceptionally fruity syrah. There's a lot of black pepper here, nothing like the blackberry fruit that there was in the 2011. The body is a bit better, though, so depending upon your taste, you might like the 2012 better than the 2011. (Despite its lack of body, I prefer the 2011.)

A little fresher and juicier than the '11, this is really easy to pound.

Berry aroma and flavors. Minimal legs. Short finish. Overall, a simple Monastrell that seems consistent with a warm-climate everyday drinker. As a medium-bodied red from Jumilla, it was a good pairing with paella of scallops and chicken. Priced appropriately at $11. I would buy again.

A very nice, mid-weight, fruit filled QPR offering that offers good varietal characteristics, with dark fruit, iodine, meat and pepper. Ripe and fruity, but well balanced, with moderate complexity.

Mild barnyard with strawberry on the nose. Garnet red color. Astringent tar and mocha java with more barnyard on the finish. Not bad but not really my sort of wine.

Very nice. Found this in the cellar where it had gone missing. Purple. Nose of coffee, chocolate and cherry. Complexity too. Baking spices, coffee, chocolate and cherry. Very nice for $9.

Dark purple, almost opaque. Notes of leather, horse sweat, cassis on the nose followed by sweet cherries. Mid palate of dark fruits and noticeable but not overpowering tannins. Not a great deal of complexity here; the fruit kind of says it all. Finish is moderately long (10 -12 sec). I wrote these notes after the bottle had sat open for 3 hours half empty, and the palate seems to have improved with some time. Sadly, this was my last bottle, …

Leather, horse sweat, meat, dark purple, black fruits, chriies and prunes, tannic structure with as little licorice on the finish. Fruit on the palate doesn't live up to the promise of the nose. Still an enjoyabe bottle at the price
