Medium dark ruby red. Baked strawberry pie nose. Medium bodied, dirty cranberries, pepper, chocolate cherries, scattered tannins, cola, and a medium-length sweettart finish. Well made candy wine.

From the winemaker: Beautiful uplifted nose of black pepper and blue fruit. There’s a ton of really nice oak on this wine. If you like big, rich, full bodied meaty chewy reds, you’ll dig this. Big structure as well – definitely a wine you can age another 5-6 years. As far as style goes, this is more of a Cab lover’s style of wine, with a darker fruit profile vs the cherry pie and kirsch from the Lot 487 Blend. …

Hmm.... Initially a very shallow and one-dimensional wine. After some time open, it coalesces into something a little more interesting. Dark fruit, firm tannins, vanilla spice. I might get another bottle and try again, but it will never be confused with a $20 wine...
