Bu avec les FOUDUVIN de l'Estrie au resto AVV La Suite de Sherbrooke! Ouvert en PM pour en retiré le dépôt substantiel mais très fin. Remis en bouteille non bouché pour 3 heures avant le repas. Nez envoutant sur la fumée et la viande faisandée. En bouche, textbook Rhône Nord. Des mures, du lard, des fleurs, un peu d'olives et de silex. Hyper savoureux et bien minéral. La finale bien longue est toute en finesse. SUPERBE!

Kept in a wine-cooler at 13 degrees C. since about 2018. Decanted five minutes before dinner. First impression: nice wine, with quality, recognizable as made of sirah. The tannins were almost fully resolved, but seemed to mask the fruit, which made this bottle taste kind of tired. So quite simiular with earlier TN's. I recognize the dilemma of other TN-writers whether this wine needs more time. My conclusion: probably the fruit will not survive further keeping, so drink up. At …

Night one I thought this was flawed. Kind of skunky. Night two this has smoothed out a lot. Dark fruit, smoke and tobacco (good pairing) and a silky finish. Still not blown away, but I'll be interested to try the next. 89

Drinking like a classic St Joseph right now. Dark fruit, somewhere between medium and full bodied, a little chalky, violets, not super long but bright and rich. Was quite a treat on a week night.

I was chatting about corked wine to a friend who had studied at UC Davis and he informed me that Corked wines could be rescued by putting some cling film into a decanter, pouring the wine over it and then removing the cling film after a minute or two. Magnum ouvert durant 1 heure avant dégustation. Belle couleur carmin foncé, assez brillante. J’ai beaucoup aimé le nez typique de Syrah, poivre blanc, épices, olives vertes. En bouche, je l’ai trouvé plutôt féminin, soyeux, très bon mais qu'il manquait un peu de caractère et de longueur en bouche. Peut-être qu’un passage en carafe l’aurait aidé... next time.

Can be enjoyed now, but best on 2nd day. Lovely Syrah. Pepper, earth, a touch of smoke and iron. Very well endowed with ripe fruit also, but this could only be Northern Rhone. Probably better in 2-3 years.

Hold this one for another couple of years. Intense and enjoyable savory and tobacco character. This is like drinking a medium rare steak. Will be better after it's had a chance to mellow out and integrate a little more, but if you can't wait, it's still drinkable now.

Drank at a large family gathering, so I wasn't able to focus too much on the wine. Deep ruby color and good syrah nose. Medium to full bodied with an initial edge of acidity and tannin, even though I had decanted the wine and poured it back into the bottle through an aerator. This melted away during the evening and the wine was fruity and balanced. Next bottle should not be consumed for a year or two. Good stuff.

J`ai décidé d`ouvrir un beau Sainte-Épine Saint-Joseph 2010 dimanche pour célébrer de belle façon la fête de mamans.
