Keller, Cuvee TBA, Rheinhessen

Golden, glowing, quite heavy and almost syrupy in the glass. Very impressive nose. Lots of sweet, ripe stone fruit, apricot and orange preserves, lemon zest, honeyed spices. The mouthfeel is just incredible - big and sweet but light, subtle and fresh at the same time. Not heavy at all, a real pleasure to drink. Deep and complex, very, very long finish. Superbly balanced and round. An outstanding wine with many years of life ahead.

On initial opening, the nose seems a little muted but within minutes opens to reveal lovely ripe apricot fruit, marmalade and honey. Very full, lush and creamy, packed with very sweet sugary fruit. Ripe and tropical yet it seems light and almost fresh, belying the viscosity of the liquid. Full of zip and energy with crisp acidity leaving a freshness to the palate after the notes of raisin and caramel have disappeared. Stunning.
