Into the Foothills, The Wines of Piedmont (Vintage Wine Storage - 10615 Metric blvd Austin, TX 78758) : Enjoyed at a wine tasting. Pale garnet. Grapes come from the La Morra area. Still early on this; should only improve with further cellaring. Very aromatic. Expressive, balanced with finesse. Lots of red fruits. Strong finish.

Clear, pale rust with heavy bricking. Subtle and austere on the nose with tar, liquorice, worn leather and crushed strawberry. Palate is full with firm tannin and persistent acidity. Flavours of tar, tobacco, and menthol. Good length. Hot finish. Even after 25 years this wine needs time. Try again in 5-10 years.
