Savoury and balanced, showing its age now but developed nicely.

Intense red berry nose. Crushed cranberry fruit, taught and intense chalky palate. Really excellent and delicious stuff.

Tra il paglierino ed il dorato, finissimo perlage. Elegante e maturo al naso: frutta tropicale, nocciola, bergamotto, crema pasticcera e pasta frolla, anice. Cremoso, di buona intensità, fa emergere rosa (nettissima) e fior di limone

20 Coteaux Champenois - tasted blind : Tasted at the Sampler, London. A Pinot Noir from Champage, interesting I thought. Very light garnet color, translucent. Nose of red current, pomegranate, scotch tape, not a lot of Pinosity here. Enters the palate rather lean with little aromatic intensity and pleasure, not overly acidic but clearly borderline ripeness. It is apparent that this Pinot comes from a cold place. Peculiar flowery-hyacinth nose as well as sweet raspberries and some accidity. Very light body, even watery, pickle on the finish. Strange.
