Pale straw. Lemon, lime, lemongrass, subtle creamy notes. Impeccable precision and pinpoint focus. Like torrential rain on slate, or a high mountain stream not far from its source. Brimming with vivacity. The very essence of what we call "freshness" in wine. Remarkable, really, at 10 years, all this energy. What can it become in 10 more?

After a ultra tight Huber Chardonnay 2014, this is clearly richer with less acidity and shows the hot year. Citrus (more orange and grapefruit than lemon), iodine and the rich texture. Not my preferred year.

Coming from a rich year and you have it in the glass: citrus (less orange compared with the last one in 2022, more at a equilibrium between lemon and orange), and the usual seashell and iodine stuff proper to Chablis. Developed very well and confirms my opinion of keeping the Chablis from warm years long enough that the structure takes the lead.

Chablis (Bottega Coco) : Butter, a little honey, flint, lemon, a touch of polished oak, a little mushroom. Juicy, fleshy, tangy, butter, honey, polished oak and textured grip. Jon observes that it reminds him of aged Semillon and I'm inclined to agree. It does feel a bit forward for an 8 year old 1er cru and, with time in the glass, it begins to fall apart.

While rich this isn't overly ripe and as I didn't have the pleasure of enjoying this young I don't know if it's an anomaly within the solar vintage or if the 2015s are evolving better than expected but either way this is quite nice with some richer orchard fruit but primarily typical citrus and stone notes buoyant a fine minerality and good acidic backbone. Very good.

Tasted over 2 hrs -translucent pale gold green -mild reduction sweet matchstick -med acidity, med weight med+ concentration soft sweet mildly honeyed yet fresh prominent narrow bitter streak dominates the finish -good, but less dynamic and complex than most vintages

"Chablis is a gem, known to many but ignored by many more" - Jasper Morris MW (Zoom!) : A touch of oak evident on the nose and palate here, but it's in balance. A nice citrus energy to the wine, vanilla on the finish. Good length, lots of fun already but more to come.

This was awesome. Has the depth of a grand cru. Lots of pear? Best 2015 Chablis I have had. Rich but not 2015 rich and retaining the Chablis character.

Know your Burgundy Vintages (Berry Bros & Rudd) : Tangy, enjoyable fruit and a sense of length and complexity. Light-touch winemaking meaning not much trace of new oak. Mineral but certainly not austere (reflecting the 2015 vintage) - not classic in style but very appealing.
