Fully integrated and ready to go with a splash decant. Nice heft.

Decent but feels like it’s nearing the tail end of its window. Unfortunately nowhere close to 2018 or 2019…

Deep garnet in color almost inky. Nose is muted fruits, spices, licorice. On the palette beautifully structured wine. Dark red fruits (bitter but not unpleasantly so), complex, long finish, tannins well integrated but present. Tasting very well - drink or hold.

Plum, cherry, cassis on nose with a liquorice hint and some sweeter spices. Some cedar, violets. I really like the floral edge here. Very nice, silky texture and a step up of depth and complexity vs the Optimus despite similar blend. Drinking nicely. 94+

Coravined at the winery. Deep dark magenta color. Blueberry, blackberry, dark chocolate, sour cream donut, and bay leaf. Very dry, smooth palate. Very firm tannins on the longish finish. This improved since the last time I had it (five years ago). I highly doubt it will improve further. This was part of a library tasting at the winery. Unfortunately, I was served almost exclusively 2020 and 2017 wines. Felt a bit ripped off, to say the least.

A little disappointing on day 1 (89 or so). Fruit a little muted and seemed disjointed. Came together well on day 2 (92). Drank without food and tasters commented that it would be better with dinner. I'll probably wait a couple years before trying another bottle.

At a blind tasting, this GSM was identified as a Grenache, which dominates this blend. Deep garnet, clear, it had lots of fresh red fruits with savory meat notes underlying. Delicious with a well balanced body.

90 minutes of air. Still tannic upon opening. Served with a Mississippi roast. As usual improved with fatty food. Nice floral nose - even at first. Classic flavor - fruity, full bodied, tasty

1hr decant, enjoyed over several hours. Incredibly delicate and balanced for such high alcohol. Nice fruit up front with layers of texture and a long finish. Bright acidity. Red and black fruits. This bottle still felt young, but in a good place.

The last bottle a couple years ago was drunk during a "dead" phase in the wine's life. This was a much more balanced version, but still lots of mouthfeel. Some fruit left, but now lots of rich chocolate. A pretty good showing after the disappointing experience previously.

Paso Robles, Jan 2025: Patrimony, L'Aventure, Tablas Creek, Booker, Denner, Justin (Paso Robles) : Tasted at the winery. Was part of a vertical: 2017-2021 (ex-2020). 49% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Petit Verdot. Notes of raspberry, cranberry, and dried cherry. Medium body with nice acidity. I think this wine can continue to improve with time, but already drinking well. 90 points.

15.9% abv. Aging pretty nicely for a 17 year old high alcohol red! Rich and deep - not really any heat that I noticed. Heavy oak influence, but pretty well integrated at this point. Not normally in my wheelhouse, but this was pretty good.

Rich and pronounced single vineyard blend of 49% Syrah, 30% CS and 21% PV, aged for 15 months in FR oak, 90% new. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Deep ruby colour. Intense aroma of blackberries, cassis, cherries, wild flowers, leather, herbs, violets. Full body, smooth and powerful yet well polished and elegant with concentrated fruit flavours, velvety sandy tannins. The only downfall is level of abv, even though it is well disguised, but 16% is bit too high.

Drank half the bottle on our own. Lovely gsm. Great dark fruit bouquet, more aromatic than most gsm. Full bodied. Long finish with rounded tannins. Licorice notes with bit of pepper.

Just fantastic! Opened bottle to breath an hour before serving. Seepage under the foil had me thinking it was a goner but it had chewy fruit flavors in tremendous balance. Loved this one and favored it over the very solid Corison Helios Cab Franc (2017) that was our second bottle.

Decanted for about 30 min and this wine opened up beautifully. Explosive dark fruit flavor with a hint of herb. Still some tannins and acidity that will allow this to age, but I really liked experiencing this wine now.

Very nice Rhone style blend from Paso. Heavy aromas of potpourri, cured meat. Dark berries, pepper and full bodied. I really am a sucker for this style of wine. This is good. A step below saxum, Andremily and fingers crossed for me but still very good and enjoyable. Drinking well now, could hold for another 5.

I've had a number of Cab/Syrah blends and they're rather hit or miss. This is what one should taste like. Explosive nose of red and black fruits with flavors of blackberry, plum, and raspberry. No spice but beautifully integrated and smooth.

Blueberry and blackberry up front. Medium notes in the core, a little herb, a little gravel. Finishes shorter than expected on some tannin and slight acid. Density and intensity throughout. This is a highly concentrated wine, thick mouthfeel.

Quite phenominal at this age. Rich cherry fruit and some warm baking notes but held together with spicy syrah in the finish. Although its drinking great now, that spicy finish feels like it would like to evolve in 2-3 more years (tops)

JD 98 JS 97 RP 95 V 94. Super high praise. Does it live up? Oh you betcha! 2 hr decant. Dark ruby, opaque. Incredible and layered aromas of cherries, raspberry jam, dried rose petals, cedar wood, green olives, salted meats and potpourri. Pretty full bodied, smooth, agile, soft tannins and retains a nice freshness even with high ABV and big body. 48 Grenache 32 Mourvèdre 20 Syrah.

Decanted for an hour. Immense and deep, full of blackberry liquor with side notes of leather and licorice. Tannins still present but very smooth, should have a few years to go. Don't open on a night when you're in the mood for subtlety and finesse.

Deeper color than expected for a GSM. Nose was off at first then opened up to dark fruit and leather. Full bodied on the palate - more so than a typical GSM - with concentration and finesse. Long finish. Wine is still young and vibrant.
