No detailed notes but surprisingly, and even from half bottle, showed very well.

From jerry. Just open d and smells awesome. Menthol and bloody and really powerful smelling. And still hard edged on the palate. Lots of gumption there.

Clear, pale-ruby color. Expansive secondary aromas of sandalwood, eastern spice, dried flowers, sous bois, chalk, fig/raspberry fruit. Light to medium body, well-integrated acid. Forward notes of red apple and cherry fruit, finely layered secondary depth consistent with the nose. Fleshes out through the mid-palate, finishing with fine elegant tannins and lingering peppery spice and dark fruit. Showing the vintage well, in a good drinking window. Very nicely done.

Cool but ripe cherry and white pepper with an alcoholic touch at first, that quickly evaporates and more complex aromas of crushed graphite and woody scents appears. Cherry cola and more vanilla after a while. Fine concentration of sour cherry, florals and liquorice on the palate. Good balance, but more acidity is missed.

Pop and pour and tasted a small glass but did not take any notes. Vacu-vined, refrigerated the bottle, and then tasted the following day. tasted with food (grilled chicken, Vietnamese rice noodle soup, in case you were wondering). The wine was served a little cool. Bright floral nose, with some spice component. Light mouth feel but there is good depth of flavor. Ripe strawberries and cranberry notes, with good citrus (pink grapefruit) elements. Fresh red berries - inviting and mouth-watering. …

This started out pretty spicy. In fact, I finally decided it smelled exactly like a cinnamon hard candy. Settled down by day two. Still plenty of spicy red fruits.

Very light. Thought it would go better with salmon but perhaps the grill and spices messed up the pairing. Enjoyed the leftovers more the next day with a chocolate brownie.

This is so delicious! Delicate and complex. So glad we bought a case as it will be interesting to see what this wine does over the years. Classic cool weather Oregon Pinot Noir from Eola Amity AVA at a great value

Medium garnet with ripe strawberry nose. Tart berry, medium body and fruit and some stone fruit tannins. Nicely restrained with a good balance toward the acid side. Drinking very well now with about an hour open time.

Pop and pour and served with food (escarole soup, and porcini ravioli in a sauce of chorizo and fried tomato paste, in case you were wondering). At first, the wine is a bit rustic and rough. With a bit of air, the funky notes blow off. Bright, tart wine with red berries and some woodsy notes of herbs and stems. Fair level of acidity. Re-corked and will check in after a day of air.

Willamette Valley late June tastings : Savory on the nose- showing notes of wet earth, mushroom, cherry and vanilla. Deepening on the palate with fig fruit, fresh flowers, sandalwood and spice. Fleshy with smooth tannins and a full finish. Very nice.

Lots of red berries. Crimsom color. Less fruit than expected and a bit more tart that expected as well. But a lovely glass particularly with food. This is one of the oregon Pinots which comes pretty close to true burgundy style.

Back in the Willamette; 2/15/2015-2/20/2015 (Willamette Valley) : This is a nice wine. For all of the talk about how great the '12s are in Oregon, I find that many times I prefer the '11s. This was 85% estate fruit and 15% sourced. Mostly tart red fruit (think cranberry) and earthy, a bit more complex and interesting than the Jefferson. Still a decent amount of oak, but in this case pulled the wine together.

Starts quite oaky. With air the oak influence eases off and there is nice black fruit and balance underneath. Has potential to be good if the oak integrates. I'd hold for 5 years.

My first bottle from this producer. I am impressed. Savory restrained but very focused red fruit and spice. Light-to-medium weight. Great balance. If this winery's SVD wines are an improvement over this, I think they would probably be among my favorite pinots ever.

Willamette with a touch of Wedding Planning (or vice versa); 7/2/2014-7/4/2014 (Willamette Valley) : First taste was licorice. I still get the strong oak (seems to be a Cristom style). Maybe some green pepper? The pepper (as in salt & pepper) is a bit more muted in this one than some of the others. Would need a fair amount of time to integrate I think although even some of the slightly older vintages felt like they'd found their feet a …

Big and bold for an Oregon Pinot but it works and is overall balanced. Bing cherry and vanilla smoky oak on the nose and palate. Very smooth tannins with a full warm mouth feel and long finish. Nice acidity at the end that seemed to rise with fruit softening as the bottle sat.

Bravo !

Classic subtle old world style. Clear, med light ruby in the glass. Nose is all classic burgundian Pinot. Subtle red berry, a bit of earth and leather all wonderfully integrated. Palate is med + acidity, med tannin with the experience very consistent with the nose and all well integrated. For those that find the funk of old world too much and the fruitiness of new world too Beaujolais then this is your wine.

- Crimsom color with medium forming legs and aromas of blackberry, black pepper and vanilla. It's balanced and has flavours of blackberry, raspberry, black pepper and vanilla with a medium body. Polished texture with a medium finish - Delicate Pinot showing a fine balance between new and old world styles. Enough fruit and earth to keep things in harmony. Great with food. Will drink well for 10+ years.
