Bad Monkey’s tasting note got this spot on. Unbelievably smooth. Bought this as a “last bottle” from a local store that I would describe as “itchy” and got worried when my cork broke in half but turned out to be no worries at all. Great stuff and I wish I had more.

Pnp. Lots of sediment. It's elegant. Cherry vanilla cola. Nice mouthfeel. It's improving with air but it's difficult for me to see how it improves with age. After 4 hours in a decanter it started sing. Chocolate cherry, coffee. Really good.

Purple fruit - black currants, blackberry, and a little dark cherry and blueberry. Smooth mid-palate with a nice purity and solid depth/concentration. Nice rich flavors of cassis, some spice/licorice, cocoa, and a little graphite component. Fairly long finish. Popped/poured but drank out of a decanter for a couple hours. Oh hell......had to open another bottle after we blew through HMC's '16 Selah. Right from the pnp, this one is ready. It's resolved, integrated, balanced and ready. Black fruited, no prune or raisin, but you get the feeling that 5 more years will lead to that. It is an impeccable Cloudy's. Wish I had more of it as it is easily the WOTN, tonight.

As an update to my 2019 tasting note…this cab has become more concentrated, fruit forward with intense inky, purple, blackberry fruit. The tannins have become silky smooth, layered and delivers a wonderful full mouthfeel. This is really a great wine, particularly for the price.

This wine is holding up very nicely. I had a Coravin pour and it wasn't that great so I went all in, decanted and waited 3 hours. What a difference! Very dark coloring; primarily black and purple with matching fruit. Nice mineral streak; full-bodied and not over the top at all. Hour or two in decanter and this was a joy to drink. Seamless and balanced tonight. Rich deep fruits, baking spices, touch of vanilla. Enough acidity to carry this right on through to my tummy. Delish!

I loved this wine. It was stingy on its aromatics (cedar, spice box) but substantial on its flavors of dark cherries and currants with vanillin and licorice...and so smooth with just a slight grip at the start of a long finish. Posted photo. (Note to self: Drink next bottle in 2022)

Recently picked-up some bottles in the secondary market at a nice price and I’m thinking about buying more but wanted to see where this vintage is at first. Terrific Napa Cabernet with dark, purple fruit with notes of blackberry and current. Needs an hour to decant to get secondary flavors of graphite, dark chocolate and lavender. Expect this to get even better over time.

Really coming around now. Would definitely buy more at $30-40/bottle. This is not at all restrained. It's a big, heavy, fruit forward cab, with only subtle oak notes (vanilla/caramel) on the mid palate, and a looong finish. This is my kind of Cab, and drinking much better now, than 12 months ago.

2 hr decant.....not enough. Wine opened up after over 3 hours. Very ripe fruit. Still excessive tannins. Not sure if this wine will ever achieve a sense of balance. I would give it another year before trying. Not worth the money. bought some of this on WTSO for $40. Still not sure it is worth this.

This is a really good cab. Got this from WTSO for 40.00. Retails for around 80.00. I think this wine is a steal for 40.00. Balanced and rich. Full bodied. Tannins are ripe and silky. I served this 2005 Janzen along with 2005 Juslyn Spring Mountain Cab. (94 R.P. rated) for dinner the other night. It was a tossup on which guests liked better. I think they were both solid 94's.
