My friend Bill saved me a pour from a tasting I had to miss. Stoppered and left in the fridge for a week. Clear amber. Medium weight melon, lilacs, pear, and talc nose. Delicious spicy dried apricot flavours and a nice dry finish. Not really oxidized at all. Remarkable wine that I have now had 6 times from Bill’s cellar. What a great friend.

Stinky on the nose but the palate used gorgeous. Powerful and rich. Super tasty.

Clear amber. Intense nose, black tea, honey, apricot, freshly poured concrete, and baked apple. Dry rich baked apple, apricot and pineapple flavours and a rich dry finish.

Very bright amber. The nose begins medium intense but turns up the volume over a couple of hours. Dried apricot, pine nuts and dried figs or maybe dates. Delicious dry fruit flavours and a rich but balanced finish. Not even a hint of oxidation.

Beaucastel Dinner at Tiger Mama. About the color of a 20 y/o Sauternes. Not terribly oxidized palate but just not very much left. Not much acidity. A little smoky.

i'm a sucker for older rhones so keep that in mind, as i did not find this at all past peak or oxidized. at peak now for sure however. full, viscous, dry with a hint of sage and honey. a long, complex palate. this was simply wonderful. mine stored pristine at 57degrees.

Based on the almost orange color, was expecting an oxidized roussanne well past its prime. Instead, this started out with a heavy hand of petrol and must, but quickly evolved to a very complex mix of yellow and orange fruit infused with petrol and saline qualities. The texture is pure, mouthfeel thick. Amazingly generous wine right now with no signs of fading.

A little oxidized, but in a very good way, like an old tokaji, very complex, with orange peel and marmalade. Wonderful mouth, a hauntingly beautiful wine.

Unimpressive nose. Viscous mouthfeel. Tastes much better than the nose. Dark golden color, looks quite old.

Amber. Starts with dairy, mineral and apricot fruit. Even some honey and peach. Definetly a sweet nose. Keeps changing over a couple of hours. Not oxidized or soapy at all. Great nose and floavours. Long finish with lots of acid left. A great wine.

WLTV Party; 3/29/2008-3/30/2008 (Springfield, NJ) : Tasted at the WLTV after-party at Basilico's. COLOR: Copper like no white should be, unless it's a 100-year-old Sauternes. NOSE/PALATE: This wine was completely oxidized.

ERI Auction and Tasting (Chicago, IL) : Pale yellow straw, nose of mineral and chalk. Smooth, lanollin feel, it reeks of minerality and terroir in the classic style of the great French wine; the fruit, citrus and melon, is restrained, living within the framework of its minerality. Contrast with the new world SQN monster. Dulcie gave me "that look" as if to say what's the fuss about; but you have to understand the context with these things.

Cull 5/07. Moderately advanced color. Some interesting flavors, but I still don't "get it." Hard to believe it will rise up with time. We'll see; next(last) bottle in 3 yrs or so.
