Lots of dark berries and maybe raspberries on the nose and palate. Cedar dry and not overly smooth though. We were expecting more. Tannins still pretty grippy. Little bit of spice/pepper at the end too. Pretty medium bodied. I think we were underwhelmed. Have 1 more bottke to check out in a year or 2. Maybe it’ll relax and smooth out. Def not our fave release from Black Hills! Served with smoked pork shanks and creamy polenta and roasted veggies. …

decanted for 1 hour. Blackcherries, raspberries and ripe plum on the nose. On the palate, more blackcherries, raspberries and plum, beautifully complimented by blackcurrant, moccha, coffee, and hints of vanilla and cedar in a medium velvety body with medium tannin and medium acidity. The medium to long finish has hints of peppery notes. As the night goes on, and the wine gets better and become more interesting and more complex. This wine should drink very well in 3 to 5 …
