Nose is sort of a stewed fruit, raspberry and blackberry, but with an earthy component that is about 3 years past it's prime. Turning more into a little bit of manure/mold/chlorine. So... don't drink 10 years past it's vintage

Dark, almost completely opaque purple color. Very open and expressive nose with crunchy, berry-driven aromas of blueberries, blackcurrants and hints of blackberries. The wine is medium-bodied, somewhat sweet and juicy - up to the point of almost coming across as blackcurrant juice-like - with succulent and rather dark-toned flavors of blueberries, sweet red plums, some peppery spice and a hint of blackcurrants. Reductive nose with furry animality, rotten vegetables, raspberry, cherry and plum stone. Some spice accents. Medium bodied palate with juicy cranberry acidity, and supple grip. Some damp leaf action, red-toned fruit with a tart edge. Some liquorice and general sweetness in the aftertaste. Somehow this young and disjointed wine is a mix of nice and less nice attributes. It's at a crossroad and I hope it knows where it's heading.

On the nose notes of blueberry, earth and spice. Black cherry and earth, with minerality on the palate. Spice notes not as strong as many other zweigelt wines; berry notes are also somewhat weaker, but the overall integration is very nice.

More ripe berry fruit than I was expecting. Nice spice and forest floor. Cardomom and anise smells. Toni says smokey blueberries. Good stuff. Nicely priced at $17. Really intriguing stuff.
