Such a beautiful wine. Intoxicating nose of red fruit, dried herbs, spices, tobacco leaf and roasted chestnuts. Incredible complexity, fresh acidity and silky tannins. More integrated than when I tasted 2 years ago, but the tannins are still quite prominent. Drinking great now, but should continue to integrate over the next few years. Will wait 2 years to open the next bottle.

Stunning wine! In a perfect place right now, with just a few tertiary flavours emerging. Really lively and open. Leathery, tobacco, cherries, and beautiful oak integration. I'm sure there are plenty of years left but this is drinking perfectly now.

Still holding beautifully: Color, fruit, flavors, finish. I agree with the "silky" descriptor. Seems like it could still go a few years but drinking great right now. Unfortunately, my last bottle.

Part of an Italian wine night with my wine group at an Italian restaurant. Everyone else liked it more than I did. But it is a very good wine. I just liked the Le Pergola Torte that we had more than this wine.

Decanted for 3 hours to remove unpleasant mushroom and wood notes to begin with. This is a good sign, nonetheless, that it evolved since the last one I opened. Still primary at this point should revisit in another 2-3 years from now.

Double decanted for 3 hours, which was certainly required. Ruddy red. Quite a muted nose, with what is there being more earthy than fruity. Medium body, soft velvety tannins, with low acidity. Feels like it time to drink now. Nothing complex, but enjoyable.

A core of red fruit and spices, with some intriguing savoury notes coming through. Roasted chestnuts, tobacco leaf and dried herbs. Drinking well now, but still feels very young. Enjoyed this significantly more with food. Light ruby colour. Pronounced aromas of red cherry, vanilla, cranberry, cinnamon, all spice, dried pine needles, roasted chestnut, tobacco leaf, dried herbs. Pronounced palate. Medium body, medium (+) tannin, high acidity, long finish.

I have tried this over a couple of days using Coravin between tastes. It is simply ok. not particularly robust nor long finish nor much complexity..basic chianti classico. I am afraid I have not been impressed by Ricasoli wines for many a year now. Way overpriced and overrated by the “experts”

29122022 - 1990 Unico Vega Sicilia + Aged wines luncheon at Tang Room. A great bottle after all the aged bottles today. Fresh, tart cherry, lifted notes of balsamic, leather and fresh oak. Very well made CCRGS. One for the cellar and let’s approach this again in 5 yrs time
