Scarlett Wines Zinfandel

This bottle tasted MUCH heavier and hotter than my last one. Just way over the top and missing the acidity that created balance on the last one. Bottle variation?? Either way, glad to not have any more in the cellar as this was not great.

I've gotta go against the grain here and say that while this was def a bigger wine (bigger than I expected actually), it was still balanced and just straight up delicious. Not the most complex wine ever, but that's ok sometimes. Clearly very well made and a solid value. I dig it!

Wine is still very jammy and young. Should benefit from additional aging.

This was a really enjoyable Zin in the way a Caymus or Austin hope is really enjoyable to many. I would 100% put this above Rombauer zin which was our go to wine for people that said they don’t like wine (now it’s Austin Hope). Fruit forward with very little acid to help balance things out. Drank very well, although high % of residual sugar showed through.

Must be some bottle variation, as I had a very different experience. I'm terrible with descriptors, but I found this closer to Carlisle than, say, Turley. I enjoued it. Perfect with Chicago stuffed pizza.

IF......an over extracted pinot married an over extracted zin.......this would be it. Nice clean wine, but that's about the best that can be said about this wine. Not enough pepper or spice to denote it as a zin. Tons of cherry fruit. SMH.......it's just a fruit bomb.......but what is it? Difficult to tell.......
