Medium gold. Pronounced, complex nose and palate - lychee, pineapple, apricot, rose petal, honeycomb. Medium sweet, not at all cloying, medium acidity. Full body, medium alcohol. Long finish - goes on for ever. This is still delicious, but the palate slightly less interesting than the nose - perhaps starting to fade now?

Medium gold. Pronounced nose - lychee, rose, pineapple, apricot, ginger, honey comb, smoke. Sweet but not cloying, medium+ acidity that balances the fruit and sugar, full body, medium alcohol, long finish. Outstanding quality wine. Drink now, not suitable for further aging. This may start to fade a bit after 20 years, but it’s still delicious.

Golden yellow, medium intensity. Developed(+) nose, high intensity. Sweet, roses, litchie. A pinch of saffron. Gives an intense and thick feeling. In mouth a low dose of sweetness, medium(-) acidity, medium(+) body. 13,5%. Viscous and agile. The litchie and roses dominate the flavours, but in a kind of careful way, distant, still power. Very good length, with a slight burning end feel. Follows over five days, impressed; almost unaffected of the stay in the fridge.

Lychee there on nose, but much, much less so on palate, which was more of a raisining petrol, with some bitter slatey mineral. Friday Night at Davyd's (Pine Close) : Tasted blind. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, gold colour. Legs. Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of lychees, honey, chrysanthemum, slight gingery spice. Developed. On the palate, medium dry, medium acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), medium+ body. Roses, apricot, perfume, handsoap nose. Pressed flowers, dense, even oily palate with a weird almost chemical bitterness. To me, this define "unctuous" in a wine.

Not as good as the last bottle I drank a few months ago. Lychees, apricots and peaches in front of honey and marmalade. Acidity felt a little weak and not enough to cut through the viscosity. Too much heat on the short finish.

honey and apricot on the nose, wonderful glycerine mouthfeel, honeyed fruit forward with spice to follow and citrus grapefruit flavors in the background. gorgeous wine with very complex flavors. Enjoyed with lamb curry meal. My last bottle -- worth waiting for. Drink the first night! Pop andwaith 15 minutes to pour -- will open in the glass.

NC Cindy Tasting, August 2012 (Chateau WineKnurd) : Deep, rich, golden color, and fairly viscous, the nose on this wine is very pretty, with classic lychee, star fruit, and a certain sweetness. Nice golden color and classic aromas of floral elements, tropical fruits, and honey. Just a tad bitter/hot on the palate. Viscous texture but decent acidity prevents this from being too flabby. Short-ish finish. Enjoyable but not all that memorable. Drank this over the course of a week (stored in Eurocave w/ cork put back in), and the aromas opened up a bit more by days 5-6.

This is a lovely wine. The color is deeply golden. There was little bouquet. The flavor was deeply fruit with a backbone of tanin. There was some residual sugar, but not very much. This wine went very well with sole.

For me this wine fell into the very good range this go around... aroamtically quite nice and very typical... on the palate the wine is in the off dry camp with plenty of acidity to match the predictably heavy weight. Just a touch of that Gew bitterness one often finds... I think this wine is weakest in the depth of flavor/texture department, strongest in the expression of place/balance department... no reason to let this age any longer...

Stimmel's Market: The Last Temptation of Stimmel's (Bowling Green, OH) : [Warning: was served too warm] Round, with apples and light floral notes. Bitter burnt tobacco finish. Odd acidity, not super-complex. Bad QPR @ $65.

Light straw color – lighter than expected. Nose of red grapes and rose – nice depth but not varietally intense – I would believe this to be Pinot Gris if told. However, the Gewurtz presence really makes itself felt on the palate. Spicy and long. High quality. (92)

A beautiful wine. Medium golden in color. Very full and forward on the nose, with notes that start to approach a Sauternes. Full bodied on the palate, sweet but not cloying. Seems like a bit of boytrytis, but I don't know enough to say that for sure. I don't drink a lot of gewurz, but this is the best one I've had in awhile. Much better than the 2002 Domaine Armand GilG.
