Domaine des Marrans Morgon Corcelette

Medium purple. Sweet and round nose with cherry, black cherry, violet, oak, rose, red currant, some green notes, pine needles. Cassis bon-bons and more flowers on palate. Medium+ acidity, medium tannins, medium+ body. Very plush mouthfeel and texture together with seductive aromas. What's not to like?

Awesome wine.

Nice balanced fruit, a bit low on acidity and with fair length. Served at 14 degrees with a whole corn fed chicken and gravy. About 1 h in the decanter. Second and last bottle. Some development since last bottle (cirka one year ago). Well made, but without a real personality. Not for longer storage but would probably gain some more complexity with another two years in the cellar.

Deep, dark reddish-purple in color, essentailly opaque. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of floral notes of violets & earthy/dusty notes, spices, herbs, & minerals. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth texture, plush, ripe fruit flavors of dark sweet cherries, blackberries & plums with spices, herbs & minerals. Lingering finish. 13.5% abv. My first 2018 Cru Beaujolais. The reports on this vintage have caused it to not be on my radar at all, but this was suggested to me at a local shop, and the price was right, so I took a flyer.
