A really enjoyable wine that I will get again. Excellent price point too, have scored it as high as 88 before, but this bottle, maybe due to age, storage or setting an 82 this time. Mash up of Rhône and Bordeaux character with a healthy splash of brett. Reasonably structured for a supposed soft and entry level wine; okay to drink but years of life left. Not boozy or overripe. Good wine for like spiced burgers/meat or other things with savory and smoky spices, or pizza etc. Solid value for $25. Definitely not boring. ~6.5/10

Not bad, not as good as I expected. I guess I paid a little more for it, bought it from a restaurant a few years ago because I had a glass and liked it. Also had it with pizza, as several others here did :-).

The '15 Musar Jeune is fairly tasty for an entry level Musar. This is a blend of 50% Cinsault, 30% Syrah and 20% Cab. There's some nice perfume notes with a bit of ripe red fruit on the nose. A bit rustic/old world on the tongue with black/blue fruit, a touch of earthiness, fairly well integrated tannins and medium acidity. Not overly complex but definitely quaffable. This went well with pizza.

Intéresant mais ça n'a pas la profondeur et la structure du Château Musar. Une bouteille glouglou qu'on descend sans se poser de question. C'est agréable. Faire attention aux dépôts.

Raisins, currant, dried fruit on the nose. The palette is dominated by raspberry and blueberry, with raisins, bitter chocolate, and hints of lychee. A medium length finish, the wine has well balanced but firm tannins. Excellent drinking, even without decanting. A real crowd pleaser.

Vibrant ripe red fruit/berries on the nose. Medium bodied, smooth and supple with firm tannins and nice ripe/sweetish red fruit with floral notes and good acidity ending with a nice dusty bite on the finish. An excellent food wine.

Great work by Musar. This reminded me of an '09 St. Estèphe bottle I had almost on release. It doesn't try to be something it is not. It is slightly rustic on the nose, with slight funk that mellows down as time goes by but also a a solid amount of dark fruit blackcurrant, cassis, tobacco leaf, cigar box. Purchased in Poipu and paired with grilled burgers. Dark garnet. Nose of damp cellar, dark currant, earth, tapenade, black pepper. Surprisingly dense and delicious on the tongue with layers of smoky black currant, graphite, brier, pepper, and fecund earth. Firm but fine-grained tannin balancing freshening acidity. Moderately long finish of brambles, plum, and rocky soil. Very nice wine exhibiting reasonable QPR even with Kauai pricing.

This wine was rather impressive for the price. Nose was typical Musar nose of sweet cherries, and old concrete led me to think this was going to be a typical Musar.
