Big but not very well defined. Grand cru power and finish. Stylistically not for me. Maybe this bottle was on the way down already so I suggest drinking up.

Wine was still impressive with a ton of fruit, tended toward the apple, pear side. The age however blew off some of the structure and backbone and the wine was a bit lighter than I remember from the earlier tastings. Terrific enjoyment on a new years eve.

I was taken aback by how big and rich this is. There is so much depth and flavour. Maybe doesn't have the piercing acidity I expected but the finish is long and this is lovely as it warms in the glass. Brilliant shape for 18 years and not a hint of premox concerns. Still fresh and vibrant, albeit for me, this is at its peak and to be enjoyed now. Its quite stunning.

Dyp gyllen, utviklet på fargen. Nese av honning, tørket appelsinskall, antydning til sherry (ikke dominerende), noe aprikos. Forsterket frukt på nesen etter noe tid i glasset og litt mindre kjølig. Svært konsentrert og lang, veldig god syre.

A bit caramelized nose sans premox belied its youthful color. Opened after a 30 minute decant to layers and waves of pure white and yellow fruits. So much to savor here beyond the remarkable freshness, balance, length and linear precision. This is singing beautifully just moderately chilled and should remain here another 3 to 5 years. Same notes on 6 of 6 bottles over the past six weeks.

Just delicious tonight. Showing some age, but still very vibrant, acidity still strong, range of fruit from red apple to pineapple, pretty floral nose. A true grand cru burgundy and only sorry that it was the last bottle.

Good Wine with a Boring Super Bowl (Chez Kailin - Northbrook IL) : From 3L. Much like the bottle of the same wine opened 2 days ago. Lots of apple and pear, all ripe with some nut and spice support. Fat and lush with same fruit on palate, perhaps some peach as well, with a very Batard character.

I've been more and more impressed with this producer's whites of late. This did not disappoint. Powerful with lots extract on the palate and a bright finish. Another good 04.

Tasted from magnum, this bottle did not excite me as much it as did for the other tasters on this forum. I thought the nose was oaky but it had good freshness and was nicely linear, it just did not show much past the acidity. Fine but not great.

Deep rich gold in color; marvelous yet very primary nose of Toasted Almonds, smoke, butternut cream, nuget, lemon custard and golden apple. Very steely palate that shows compelling tension in contrast to the rich, borderline flinty flavors that follow all the way to the finish. Good balance but quite young today. Lots of potential.

Drank probably a bit too young, but still an enjoyable wine. Lemon flavor predominated. Tasty, but was expecting a lot more. Not as complex or as long of a finish as I would have hoped.

Dinner at Bardessono with Maureen and MW students. Amazing wine. WOTN. Nose of rocks and fruit. Lots of white flowers and citrus. More minerality than the typical Batard and tons of finesse. Finish went on forever. I'm still not sure why I'm not giving this 100 points!
