Bought in 2010 and kept in cellar since then. Tannin was well dissolved. Hollow mid-palate. Good acidity at finish. Nothing spectacular.

Purchased from the winery as a library release in early 2021. Decanted for two hours. Not what I expect from Lewis Cellars, with a restrained, mineral nose of dates and aromatic blue fruits. Superb freshness on the palate, completing disguising the 17 years of age. Pristine, pure, under-powered graphite with a further mineral streak. Clearly this has been cellared incredibly well but it also demonstrates one of my favourite California vintages in 2003.

Bought direct from the winery library sale and in excellent condition. At 17 years old the maturity was shining though. I am not sure this one was built to last but it still had fruit and some mature characteristics and was enjoyable. (Disclaimer—might normally be right up my alley but I have just had too much wine and my palate is shot)

No way this one is 15 years old. Nose definitely says that this one is 5-7 years old. Nose of aged blackberry, a hint of mint, hint of herbal, hint of truffle. Palate is the same, picks up some earthy character in the middle. Finishes even a touch acidic and tannic. You could keep this one locked up for another 10 years easy, possibly 15. Perfumed with anise cookie, cassis and dried currant. Medium body with a finish that sails on and on sporting notes of licorice, Dutch cocoa and sandlewood. This is in a fantastic drinking position.

Decanted for 30 minutes. Beautiful deep purple with distict aromas of cedar, vanilla spice, and bright, black fruit. Tannins were smooth and balanced but still have a bit of a grip left. Altogether a fine bottle.

Nose: Sweet nose of Blackberry Jam, Blueberry and oak/vanilla/coffee. Palate: Enters dense and huge with layers of blueberry, blackberry, cherry jam, cedar, spearmint and cassis. Fully resolved big napa cab that is drinking perfectly. Finish: lingers on with blackberry jam and smokey oak.

Massive fruit, notes of anise or eucalyptus develop in the glass as it opens up. Fairly consistent hint of caraway. Gorgeous tannin structure.

Deep dark color! garnet rim with slight tinge of purple Heady bouquet: Brambles, sweet fruit, dark chocolate on palate still very closed, tannic and backward; some leather/chocolate mixed with dusty tannins. Way too young! drink next bottle in 2020. It could then rate 92-94 points

This wine still needed decant time, which I failed to accommodate. Still a deep color, seamless , integrated tannins. After a half hour in the glass, this wine came alive with subtle red fruit with a little cigar box on the nose, yet slightly subdued taste than I remember from previous bottles. Deep dark red. Good Napa nose of red fruit, pipe tobacco and oak. However, this bottle never really gave much in the mouth, and had a short somewhat tannin laden finish.

Shared with Bill & Martha and they loved it; vibrant blackberry fruit, inky black color, full throttle yet smooth and balanced; outstanding, this required only modest decanting tonight; sad this is my last bottle, but it's been great to see this evolve over 30 months.

Benefited from decanting, aromas of dark red fruit and some tobacco. Lots of dark red fruit, cherries and plums, some cassis and tobacco. The tannins had softened and the finish was long. VERY GOOD.

Very nice wine, showing blackberry, blackcurrant and even a bit of cinnamon spice flavors; vein of alcohol pushes through on the midpalate and finish, but supported by big/dark fruit and solid structure.

For an "off" vintage this 2003 sings. More balanced than prior tastings of this one, it showed a depth and concentration of black and blue berry fruit, just a touch of sweetness, pleasantly so, tannins are falling away and lots of oomph and expression. Lovely with lamb chops.

Very straightforward bottle tonight, boysenberry and blueberry, oak and alcohol on the finish. Not as balanced as some previous bottles, but still good.

Starts a little hot, but after 30 minutes brimming with boysenberry fruit. Oak showing, but not heavy handed, and enough stuff to balance out the vein of alcohol intensity that never quite goes away. Good partner to heartier food.

Another really heavy bottle of CA Cab. I didn't like this as much as the one from a few years ago as I thought this was a little bit too perfumed and pushed. This bottle kind of remind me of a slightly lighter and more manageable version of Buccella.

@ marigold Kitchen, Dark red in color with smells ofdark fruit and jam, a beautiful nose. Tastes of dark intense red fruitt. the tannins were minimal and rounded. The finish was long and well rounded. A very good wine.

Very dark purple colour. The nose reminds you of a field of dry flowers. Rich berry/cherry on the palate with a long finish of sweet oak,chocolate and spice. This is a very good Lewis but not the greatest.

Very good nose of dark fruit and sweet chocolate, especially after a few hour decant. Good on the palate, a bit weak at mid palate, sweet, chocolate, some pepper, decent finish.
