Gone. Too bad - corked pulled perfect, fill level looked right. Had a great price tag from the market it was purchased for 4 bucks. Early whiffs had no vinegar tinge, and though rust-colored in the glass the first tastes were promising that the air might transform it. Gave it 20 hours before sending it down the drain. Sigh.

Very oxidized and sweet/pruney smelling at this point. Tons of decayed earth and vegetation wit a bit of florals on the palate with very soft and barely there red cherry. Way past its prime for sure but still interesting to taste.

Cork intact/in great shape. PnP. Translucent tea color with significant bricking. nose nutty, oxidized sherry notes, strong/lingering in glass. Palate light, sweet nutty notes, not much fruit left at this point. Probably not the most representative sample at this point but interesting in a dessert-wine kind of a way, still very cool to try.

A half-century American Cab on the occasion of Independence Day 2017. Note the need to "wineducate" (on back label) at the time! A(ccuracy)=2: Low neck fill; moist intact cork; Med garnet with just slight brick/orange on rim; bottle must blown off quickly, ushering in lilting suggestion of crème de cassis; edged by truffle, fine herbs and leather in first hour; returning to plummy liqueur second hour on. B(alance)=3: Seamless silk. C(omplexity)=2: Fully integrated, just short of layered, tertiary essence. D(epth)=2: …

A fading beauty, nearly madeirized and hard to get pleasure from on opening, but having stuck with it for 24 hours (thank you, M. Audouze)offers glimpses of what once was: gentle, balanced red fruit and a beautiful array of spices.

Held a little too long. Let it breath for about 30 minutes. Lighter than I would have expected. Tannins are pronounced with tar and licorice tones. Not bad but happy it's the last of this vintage I'm holding.

Surprisingly good for the age. Tannins are not very pronounced and dried fruit is overwhelmingly in the front and center. Nice dark cherry and notes of fennel. As others have mentioned drink this soon.

Given a good rating upon release by the usual suspects so I bought 2. High neck fill and cork in perfect shape. Good body and fruit on palate. Deep garnet color in glass. A very nice, predictable, middle of the road Napa cab. At peak and should hold a year or so. Drink up and enjoy. (I have one more so stay tuned).

In my opinion - this wine is past its prime drinking window. Upon opening - there was an unusual "funk" on the nose that I hoped would have cleared off after some time in the decanter - but it persisted for some time. The flavors were very muted, the weight was extremely light and the finish was almost non-existent. I should have opened this 3-4 years ago.

We have had a bunch of older BVs over the last few years and my wife was less than enthused when I pulled this out of the cellar. Pretty good, actually. Raspberry, mocha, and a bit of depth. Very good, maybe more. thedrunkencyclist.com

- Aromas of geranium and has flavours of black currant - Dennie had posole and I had pizza on New Year's Eve 2013 at home. Surprisingly good, even at cellar temperature.

- Aromas of chocolate. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of tobacco and black pepper with a medium/full body. Linear texture with a medium finish.

OK. I read the CT reviews that resulted in a score below 80. I had low expectations. However, this was not at all my experience. I drank some of the finest wines Napa offers. I have tossed wine that tastes terrible. This wine is very good! The bouquet was wonderfully soft but maybe a bit subtle reflecting its pedigree. The flavor reflects a quality cabernet. No funky, grating aftertaste or anything at all that plagues cheaper wines and pushes you …

Still quite dark red in color, dark berries, slightly earthy and some dried fruits. Palate is nice and soft but perhaps a tad tired and should drink up.

I have several bottle of this wine. Tried this again with a beef dish. Friends commented that this Cabernet had a really nice flavor. I agree. I like the fruit, the color, and the vanilla. This bottle was much more memorable than the last bottle which I tried about a year ago. Maybe I got lucky. The next bottle will tell.

PnP through Nuance Wine Finer. Dark, inky purple color. On the nose, some blueberry and vanilla. On the palate, tannic, spicy, oaky. Some dark fruit with a little blueberry on the finish. Too disjointed and oaky for my palate. 86 pts. Aloha!

I have several bottles of this because I really liked it when it. Tried another bottle yesterday with a friend. Had it with steak. It was still excellent, but not any better than previously. I don't know how long it will last. I will try another bottle every 6 months or so, to see if it is still holding up, getting better, or getting worse. Anyway, I really enjoy the color, and flavor of this good California Cabernet.

Quite impressive that it's still chugging along, I think any would have to be well stored to show well but this is still quite good, very well balanced. Doesn't last for long once opened so drink up.

Nice dark ruby color with nose full of dark fruit with some spicy oak. Medium body with decent acidity. Not the most concentrated wine, but not diluted. Slight green element, but it was not distracting.

Tasted again, with similar notes. This bottle does not have the musty smell to it, but it doesn't seem that well balanced. The acidity seems high, with a little burn on the finish.

The musty, oaky aromas seem to hide the fruit aromas. The fruit came out when tasted with cherry the most noticable. Medium bodied and a little too acidic, with short to medium finish.
