Château Pascaud-Villefranche Sauternes

Not much of a nose, consumed this with Thai curry, which paired well. Almost none of the typical Sauternes botrytis, this is clearly past its prime. More than an hour after opening had opened up slightly.

A friend had a 375 mL sitting in his regular food fridge, apparently forever, and I was worried about the storage conditions so he agreed to open. Rusty, copper colored and took about an hour in the glass to develop a nose of quince, honey, and apples but unfortunately the palate had the tell tale oxidized notes of apple cider and a waxy-woody sherry note.
